Games getting stuck in my NES

Need some help. As of now I don’t need to push my carts down within my toaster in order to play them. I can just insert them and turn on my NES to play. However, I noticed the other day that if I do push down my cart it gets stuck in the down position and locks up. I then have to bang really hard on the bottom of my toaster in order to get the game to spring back up.
Before I crack it open and start to tinker with the inside I was wondering if anyone might have a suggestion on what the problem is and how to fix it. Again, my game basically just gets stuck in the down position and it takes some banging to get it to pop back up. A few months ago I disassembled my NES in order to detach the lock out pin, maybe I did something to it during that process, not sure.

The 2 screws on the front of the game cradle where tightened too much when assembled before. Loosen em up a bit. And try a game in it before you close it back up to find the sweet spot.
