I am here with my father, and we are talking about a game he used to play when I was younger (like when I was 3). I really wanted to get the game, but neither of us can remember what it was called. We started brain storming and could think a lot about the game but not what it was called. We tried just blind searching around the internet, but couldn't find it.
So I have come to you!
Here is what we remember:
1) The game was in the 80's, and not for the Nintendo system. We don't recall the system but it wasn't Nintendo.
2) The game was a fantasy adventure game.
3) We think you had four characters that you made.
4) During combat the characters would come out and "fight" doing their animation, otherwise the game was in first person with the character portraits at the bottom of the screen and you moved only forward, left, right or back.
5) The music was chanting (or at least we remember there being a lot of chanting)
6) You were NOT in a dungeon for most of the game that we can recall. We remember being in an overworld (sky, grass ect), and there were buildings and things to enter into.
7) We remember there were barriers that you could run into that you couldn't pass and couldn't see until you were right in front of them (an invisable wall)
8) There were different buildings you could go 'in'
9) There was a healer area that was a hut marked with an Ankh
10) You would run into monsters and then your guys would go out and fight.
11) You had to hide during the night, because it was dangerous...but you could go out if you wanted to chance it.
12) We think you could get items or find things (but don't remember any details)
That is all we could agree on.
I seem to believe that the game was called something like "Dragoinca" or some strange word based on Dragon. However, I was 4 or 5 at the time. My dad can't remember anything about the name.
I am curious if anyone remembers this game? Or has a resource that I could use that I could try and find out what it was called.
I thought that the fact that the characters would come on to the screen to fight (although always with the same animation) was unique and would help me find it...but I came up short.
ANY help would be appreciated :)
Thanks!!
