Guacamelee!: Is it fun?

This month the indie platformer Guacamelee!, which has a Day of the Dead motif, was released on Steam. As a sucker for a good platformer and a lover of the iconography of Día de Muertos, my attraction to this game is really a no brainer. Has anyone played the game on the Steam, PS3, or Vita? What are your thoughts? Is the game as endearing and fun as most reviewers make it out to be?

One of my favorite franchises of all time is metroid, and this game does have a similar concept. Its a mexican metroid\simon's quest mix, its fun but its definitely not as good as metroid. Id give it a 7.5.
