hi, recently I bought a lot of factory sealed playstation 2 games, all have the y-fold and many have the security strip, anyways, all have a hole in the barcode area, how much does this affect the price when compare to a factory sealed game with no hole in barcode, thanks a lot

How was the hole punched if they were sealed?

these came from former sony employee, the games had the hole punched before they were sealed , I seen a few on ebay that sold as they stated hole in barcode, these are all original shrinkwrap and all have the y-fold and like I said , many have the security seal, thanks

Yeah they're legit, just "promo" copies is how most people refer to them.

Worth substantially less than copies without the hole punch. How much less is hard to say, really just depends. Very significant though, it's like the drop off from a Black Label game to a Greatest Hits / Player's Choice re-release.

Agree. Many sealed collectors won't even buy them regardless of the price.

well, I ended up with more than a few hundred games, some doubles, many rpg, seem they still sell ok on ebay as I saw a lot of rpg titles including rule of rose sell for 349 bucks and hack vol 3 for 58.99 , so there is intrest in the stuff regardless, thanks for the input.

You aren't going to get anywhere near those prices with the UPC punchouts. Hopefully you got them very cheap in which case you can make a little profit as there are some people who will want to open and play them and would prefer a new copy over used.

the rpg lot with rule of rose, all factory sealed with hole in barcode sold for 349 99, again same thing with hack vol 3 sealed with hole in barcode sold for 58 99 and today a sealed inuyasha game sealed with hole in barcode sold for 38 99, I saw many other complete auctions that sold ps2 games with hole in barcode sell for good money, so there is intrest in there, I have sold psone factory sealed games with hole thru jewel case from 30 to 170 each, there is a lot of room here, most of the games are rpg such as silent hill, fatal frame series , kingdom heart, skygunner etc my favorite are the megaman x command and megaman x8 and sitting ducks, thanks for the input, i appreciate it.

Again, huge difference in value. For example, roughly ten or so sealed copies of just Rule of Rose have sold in the past two weeks with the high being about $150 and the low at $100. The lot you're pointing to had 11 in demand PS2 RPGs sealed with punch outs for $349. That's about $30 a game. I'm not saying you can't make money if you got them cheap enough, but it's nowhere close to what those same games are worth without the punchout.

yes that true, i also ended up with a lot of psp games , same thing , hole in barcode, games like digimon, generation of chaos, winx etc, , no sport titles. i have two sets of the hack series and some extra, digimon rumble arena 2 etc, so it should be interesting as time goes by, out of all the ps2 games there are 49 with NO hole in barcode which is cool, again thanks
