So I came across this ad on Craigslist in my area for a 4 slot mvs for $250! In working order, only issue is some vinyl tearing on the side.

Any pointers on this guy? What would be the best way to move this beast and how much does it weigh? What kind of issues should I expect with these?

This is the ad

I bought this a few months back with the intention to restore it but I don't have the time and I need the money.

I just capped the monitor and it looks absolutely fantastic. No screen burn and the colors and contrast are great.

I recently rebuilt the control panel with new parts. The LED coin counters do work.

The power supply may need to be replaced as it works most of the time, but sometimes won't power on. I'm unsure as to what is causing the problem, but new power supplies are cheap and easy to replace for the MVS cabs.

Comes with Metal Slug 2 cart, Aero Fighters 2 Cart, Samurai Showdown 2 Cart and Puzzle Bobble 1 Cart along with the four slot board.

I'm asking $250 and can deliver if you pay for gas and a little for me and a friend for labor.

This cab still needs a little bit of loving art wise, but is functional.

neo-geo.com is a good source for NG info:

Three things I learned moving an arcade cabinet into my house:

1: Be careful going around corners, or you're going to put a dent in your dry wall

2: If you're dragging it over hardwood floors, put cardboard down first even if it has wheels.

3: If you have to move it up or down a flight of stairs, remove the monitor first as that's the heaviest part. But if the thing has been plugged in recently, you need to discharge the CRT so you don't accidentally electrocute yourself.

If you replace the power supply and you intend to run other JAMMA boards (especially older ones), make sure you get a power supply that outputs ALL the voltages. Some newer ones don't supply -5 volts since most boards don't use it, but many early 80's games do. You also might want to consider putting a Universal BIOS in your MVS board. This will let you play MVS games in AES mode if you want, or switch between USA/Japan/Europe regions.

Thanks for the info. Ended up getting it and only issue is only one speaker works. But hey it was $250

If some previous owner put a standard JAMMA harness in there, that might be why only one speaker works. I don't think regular JAMMA cables have the pins needed for MVS stereo audio. Probably not worth the effort of fixing it though.

Yea I'm about to open the back of the cab to see if it has a JAMMA harness. If so I'm pretty excited to get some arcade boards for this

Do all of the ABCD buttons work? If they do it's a proper MVS harness. I think only the first three will work if it's a stock JAMMA cable.

A standard jamma harness supports four buttons. You need a special harness for six or more.

I have a naomi spawn machine that uses a jamma harness and a four button cpo.

Also try over at the klov forums (arcade museum) they can be useful for information as well.
