Lucasarts was almost finished with a Day of the Tentacle remake when they shut down

Also in the report, it was revealed that a Day of the Tentacle remake was in development. Though it was supposedly never officially greenlit, one person familiar with the game said it was 80 percent complete.

I don't really see why it would need to be "remade"; it stands up quite nicely as it is.

I suppose they could redo all the graphics in HD, but I have a hard time believing that a complete update of that nature reached 80% completion without being ever officially greenlit, unless they had large numbers of staff sitting around with nothing better to do.

this makes me glad. it is a classic game and doesn't need to be ruined by a remake.

Considering how great the HD updates of the Monkey Island games were, this disappoints me to the extreme.
