View Full Version : Creating a "Fantasy" Top 100 NES / SNES Title List

Hey folks,

I was thinking about how sports teams have the draft and all, and the whole concept of narrowing down the NES and SNES libraries to a pure 100 choices for my own entertainment and gratification.

Then I realized that althought I've played hundreds of these games throughout my time as a gamer, and I've been lurking these forums for years, I never really got involved and thought hard about a "collaborative cull" of the library to a "fantasy roster" of 100 games for each console.

For context, I don't really enjoy SHMUPs, puzzle games, racing games -- and I prefer RPGs, beat em ups, and the odd platformer. For NES my favourite titles would be Shatterhand, Dragon Warrior IV, and Double Dragon 1 / 2. For SNES, some favourite titles are 7th Saga, FF 3 / 6, Breath of Fire 2, SMW, SF2, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Final Fight II.

I would love to start working on a list, if each member could share a game from each console (please, no more than 1-2 each post) and tell me why I might want to play it and include it in my top 100. Really, this is just for fun, and to meet a few of you.

Thanks guys.

Dys

This sounds like you're crowd-sourcing yet another top 100 list. :onfire:

Edit: Am I wrong to assume you've seen all the top 100 lists floating around? Especially Retro-Sanctuary and Syd Lexia.

Actually, I'm looking to spur discussion on games. You are also wrong to assume this. An elitist and assumptive attitude when I am asking for a genial discussion of some of the games of my youth is not the attitude I was seeking.

Right now I am having a go at Shadow of the Ninja, really enjoying it. Not sure if it's as good as Shatterhand buuut...

Thanks Satoshi, I will have a look! I always enjoy having things to read before bed or to fill in a half hour here or there.

Meh reread what I actually said I assumed.

If you like Shatterhand, try Kabuki Quantum Fighter.
