Seriously,i was negative to it since the first trailer.
I'd rather a better art style & graphics, this is the 3DS after all.
How do you feel about this?
And will you be disappointed if Nintendo never makes one with better artstyle/graphics for 3DS?
I will.

I find the art style to be quite appealing, really. :)

The artstyle of the original LttP was highly overrated (same damn dungeon tileset every time, but colored differently; every boss is made up of things that just bounce around, with no animation - not the finest showcase of the SNES' abilities) but ultimately they don't need to care about that, since this is going for the nostalgia impulse buy, so what you or I think about the art style doesn't really matter. Besides, I'm sure it's cheap to make it look like this.

Just don't ever use Toon Link. He's ugly compared to the realistic version of Link.

Bah celda crybaby garbage, that Wind Waker game was the most well done cartoon artistic style game that really brought it to life better than the rest.
That said, seems superelite is superalone again, no surprise. :) There's nothing wrong with the direction they went in, and the whole living sketch on the wall style looks pretty unique and nice too.

It's not exactly how I'd like the game to look, but it's not "bad" per se. It's certainly a lot better looking that the two DS games.

The only thing Im against with it was the doodle Link. I think it takes from the game. Plus it seems way out of place. They could have had him grow, shrink, change color, change race or even change into a statue. I just think turning into a doodle is not interesting. Oh well. On the other paw. The 3D looks to be pretty good to me. I liked how they kept the lttp art while making eveything they could 3d. When I saw the bones fly up to the camera I was hooked in wanting to see combat. And I will probably place bombs everywhere to see what FX take place.
I agree, SuperEliteGamer, there is something off and unappealing about the art style in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It is so odd and frumpy that I thought for sure the game was going to be a download-only release, but lo and behold, full retail is happening too. So I don't know what's up with the choice in visuals, but it is part of why I am passing on buying the game.

I guess I'm just more a fan of Link's Awakening and previous games' instruction manual / Ocarina of Time / Super Smash Bros. / Super Smash Bros. Melee / Twilight Princess / Skyward Sword Link.

I'd burn down several dozen villages to get a balls-out sequel to Twilight Princess, including art style and general atmosphere. It's gotta be my favorite entry in the franchise.
As to the topic at hand, the art style for the LTTP sequel strikes me as a composite the cartoonish look of Wind Waker and an homage to the original SNES entry.

Agree. I think the snes style looks great, but link moving on walls looks silly.

I don't much care for the 2.5D graphics of this game. I loved everything about Link to the Past including the graphics. But even though they're obviously utilizing it for their inspiration here, there's something about their appearance that looks cheap here rather than top notch like Link to the Past did.
I'm sure the game will be good, but I'm not so sure about its graphical presentation. I like the idea behind it though and I'm hoping it will be more impressive to look at in person on real 3DS hardware. But after seeing Four Swords Adventures on the GameCube which similarly borrowed heavily from Link to the Past for its graphical presentation but was full 2D, I can't help but find how it looks as a bit of a disappointment.
We're getting a good looking 2.5D game where as if they had done similar to Four Swords Adventures, it could've looked great. The Link to the Past graphical style combined with modern effects made possible by the GCN hardware like fog was just exceptional on that multiplayer oriented game. No matter how great this game may end up being, it will still leave me hoping for a full fledged Zelda adventure someday that takes advantage of that combination.

How about you learn to read you whiner? It's called a comparison and I went with it since rickstillwell brought it up with Toon Link, learn to read too. You're bitching and whining about the visuals like a bunch of crybabies did with the exact same argument about TWW. It doesn't matter if the game is great or not, you're going to bitch and use it as a reason to hold it against the game or perhaps not even buy it. I'm sorry you're too ignorant to get that and need it spelled out to you, but that does seem to be your pattern looking at that thread of 'values and morals' complaining in the everything board.

I can't wait to dive into this game! Seriously, the 3DS brings out the childhood video gaming feelings in me and makes me want to play it as much as possible and this new Zelda game for it is really getting me excited to play it much like the NES, SNES, and N64 Zelda games did. I can't wait!
Bring on A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS, I haven't been this excited for a Zelda game since 1998!

Hey there. This is for you:
Troll Face: Its Origins (http://nbnl.globalwhelming.com/2011/04/02/troll-face-origin-creator-whynne/)
Whynne: Originally, Trollface was an accurate representation of how some individuals, when engaging in a community known for having a large presence of trolls, use the pretense of trolling to excuse themselves from poor reasoning.
I have to compliment you for breaking form and not stooping to the low of admitting you were trolling, but this should not be replaced by the equally reprehensible tactic of accusing somebody else of trolling when you simply didn't hit the target and are now being a poor sport about it. If anything, you're being the troll here.

I don't like how Link turns into a flat 2D character who walks along walls. To me the graphics aren't bad. I also like how the 3D is atleast good. Still not as good as it is on Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, but it's atleast better than anything else Nintendo as a first party has released. If you want to see it in 3D without having to purchase it, the video is on the 3DS store.

I too don't like that effect. But I really doubt that you will be "Paper Link" very often in this game so it shouldn't pose much of a problem if it's used sparingly.
I'd like to see the shrinking mechanic from the Minish Cap reused with two worlds coexisting.

People, people, people! Much more than questioning the look of the game, just rejoice over the fact that the controls use buttons, NOT the stylus! I'm really not keen on both DS games (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks) because of the stealth and the stylus gameplay.
This being said, I find the new look to be kinda plasticine-like, which I don't really care for. You'd think that they'd go for something closer to the SNES look, especially since it can look so great on the 3DS.
Anyway, I'm still getting the game in two weeks (provided that Future Shop doesn't actually ship it ON the 22nd).

This is a selling point for me. I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, I didn't enjoy the stylus controls crapping out or becoming twitchy when I needed it to do neither.

The two reasons I will own this is that the stylus control is OUT and the ties to the SNES great. I had phantom hourglass and the controls they forced were terrible and less than ideally responsive causing Many unwanted death rolls and other garbage so I blew off the next that did it too.

I wonder if this uses a heavily improved version of the engine from the two DS games. At various points as I'm watching videos of it, the style of the graphics and such is giving me a very similar feeling although it's far more attractive now. I even imagined controlling it with a stylus a few times...
The DS games were two of the ugliest 3D games I had played in years. Glad this one is genuinely attractive and actually has proper controls.
