It's been a long time since I've played a modern video game that has grabbed me such as Super Mario 3D Land has, the last one was probably Modern Warfare 2 and that was at least 3+ years ago. I played Modern Warfare 2's single played through at least 5X and I played online for almost 2 years before I finally stepped away from it, and I can see myself playing Mario 3D Land in the same vein, it's simply amazing and I absolutely love this game to death. I've beaten it already and then beaten the unlockable worlds and now I'm replaying it to get every single star coin in the game and I'm loving it as much on the second run through as I did with the first one, it's a true masterpiece.
Anyone else here a huge fan of this game?

I loved this game, a really welcome change to the NSMB series-one of my favorite Mario games. The music was great, too-that main athletic theme gets stuck in my head from time to time. Also those extra levels after you beat the game are extremely hard from what i remember, it's been a year though. Ive beaten Mario Galaxy 2, but mann..those extra levels had me raging.

You must be REALLY young,or suck at games.
SM3DL is pathetically easy, and toned for kids and casuals.
OP,i think you're just overreacting.But that's just me,if you like the game that much,whatever i guess/
I was addicted to this game when it came out. I could not stop playing it.
my top 4 Mario games
1. Super Mario 3D land
2. Super Mario world
3 Super Mario galaxy
4. Super Mario galaxy 2
Yeah, I really love this game as well. I just wish there was a 3DS emulator for the PC, so I could play this game on my 50 inch 3D plasma, in 3D. I think it makes the best use of 3D on the system (or pretty damn close to the best use)

I thought it was really great too. Yeah the game is pretty easy if you're just trying to run through all the levels but if you try to get every single special coin in the game it is quite a challenge.

Not even close to the best use of 3D, WCP. Try out Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate. While underwater in 3D is an eyesore, everything else is absolutely amazing. Literally jaw dropping.
I've played a lot of 3DS games in 3D prior to and after Lords of Shadow. SMT4 also has some really good use of the 3D as well. Super Mario 3D Land the 3D is alright. But there's a lot that's kind of lazy. After a ways back in the distance the 3D isn't there, also a lot of stuff that's 2D-ish graphics, flat images, but shows them further in the background or closer. So some 2D, some 3D, etc, makes up the overall 3D.

One can only hope for a true to life 3DS sequel in the future, but for some reason I don't see it happening since Mario 3D World is coming to the Wii U and the team will probably move onto different projects as the future comes. But still, there is always hope that a SMB 3D Land 2 could be waiting for us somewhere down the line.

In my opinion Super Mario 3D Land is the single BEST 3D Mario game. Better then 64 and Galaxy 2. Primarily because the 3D gameplay is the most similar to the classic 2D Mario games. With persistent power-ups, shrinking, and liner levels with a single goal. Where before we had large multi-purpose levels, timed power-ups, and *shudder* lifebars.
Add that to great control, inspired level design, and fantastic use of stereoscopic 3D. Mario 3D Land is one of the best games on any Nintendo Platform. I was actively angry that 3D World would be coming to Wii U and not 3DS. But I'm sure that game will be excellent too.

Man, the final 2-3 levels of this game were difficult and that false ending was so misleading before you get to 8-6 and the real final dungeon. But what a way to finish the game and unlock those extra worlds. God I love this game!

Hopefully, then after that Super Mario 3D Land 3 Super Wario 3D Land.

I think that was my only real disappointment with 3D Land. Its a Mario Land game, but doesn't incorporate anything from the Mario Land series. That's because its a Miyamoto game, and he didn't create any of the prior Mario Land games, that was Hiroji Kiyotake.
