does anyone remember the name of a 3d game for gameboy? i think it was a mario game. it was all red and it had two levels on the screen one farther away and one closer to you and you could jump back and forth hitting enemies. i'm sure i'm not thinking of a virtual boy game it was definitely on a handheld. anyone?

If it was red, it was definitely for the Virtual Boy. Could be Wario World, but it's it's probably Clash.

im pretty sure it wasn't virtual boy. from what i remember i was outside in someone's front yard playing it and i don't remember having to strap some bigass red goggles around my head to play it. and i think this was early 90's and VB didn't come out till 95 right? of course maybe i'm just retarded and i'm confusing all this stuff.

where there any other handheld systems that 3d capability?

I'd guess try looking at the R-Zone library, since that's red too and you don't have to strap anything to your head (well, you can, but they also made the Xtreme Pocket Gear)

You mention it was red....how would that happen with an original Game Boy? GBC wasn't around till 98 or so.
