Hi Videopac collectors,

Videopac 70 "Terrahawks: The Second Assault" has been released on cart in a limited run of 100 copies. This is a former Videopac prototype from the early 1980s and maybe this game was planned as a sequel to Videopac 51 "Terrahawks" back then.

As always, the game comes with cartridge, original style label, Videopac plus inlay and manual. This is a must for every Videopac collector!

If you haven't already bought the game at Retroevent in Holland or ordered it on the Videopac forum, you can order it now via mail order through my website.

You can find all infos here:
www.classic-consoles-center.at/videopac

By the way: A few copies of my two previous releases Videopac 8+ "Baseball" (with additional background graphics) and Videopac 66+ "Route 66" are still available too. Get them as long as stock lasts, no more will be made!

Best regards,
Dieter from Classic Consoles Center

Do you need a G7400 to play these, or will they play on an Odyssey 2?

Unfortunately due to technical reasons the game will not run on NTSC consoles, so you need a PAL G7000 or G7400.

The intro runs fine on an Odyssey2, and the playfield is displayed correct too. But when you start using the joystick, the game will freeze. The game uses so many instructions at that point, that the processor is still busy with calculations when the next Vsync interrupt occurs. Normally the processor pauses for a while before the next Vsync, but when the joystick is used there is no pause anymore, so the processor can't catch up. So for NTSC consoles the shorter duration of the Vblank is not the main problem, but the total number of CPU cycles per frame.
