Can't believe I missed this. I haven't ventured into the computer section for a while.

I remember a lot of those games but missed a lot of the CoCo 3 goodness as Radio Shack was shaking out its Color Computer line by the time I bought mine. Thanks for the share!

Does anyone else think that Radio Shack is just a shell of its former self? I hardly go in there anymore except maybe for some batteries, cables or funky connectors for clients.

I don't even think we have Radio Shacks in Canada anymore - we have the Source which is horrible. I never even go in there.

I used to love Radio Shack in the 80's. I'd go in there and play on the computers, demoing coco games. I first played Electron in a Radio Shack.

On a similar note, I finally got myself a coco disk drive system :D

With a 3 1/2" drive too! Nice!

I just have the disk controller and no drives. I transferred my disks to PC a while ago. I might get that flash drive cartridge so I can use the software on a real CoCo.

Cool!

How did you manage to get a 3.5" drive to work with it?

I bought it from a user on the coco mailing list. HE bought it as a custom job from Cloud9tech so I can't answer as to how it all works. I do know that it will only work with 720k disks, not 1.44 which is a downside but he did send me one 720k disk to try with it and it works great. I'm hoping to get some more and use an emulator and an older pc to transfer some virtual disks to these for use on my coco.

Zaxxon looks pretty impressive. Did that run on the original CoCo?

It ran on a CoCo 1,2 or 3 as long as you had 32K of RAM. It was written by Steve Bjork, who was a freakin' video deity when it came to commanding the power of the CoCo. What magic he did to get that machine to do what he made it to do..,,unbelievable.

Here's knock off, Zaksund, by Elite Software (who was more known for their productivity software like Elite Word or Elite Calc):
