So this is a pretty weird topic to be starting considering I wasn't even there; I just want to know if any of you would say any of the things I loaned to the museum for the weekend. :) Anyways, let's hear it.

One of my favorite things in there is STILL the Atari Game Brain. Does that thing actually work, or is it just a proto of the casing? I'd love to see the actual screen output one of these days if it does have any "guts."

The boxed Cosmos. I love that system.

Damn, Atari people. I contributed only to the Nintendo display. Oh well, keep em coming anyways. :)

My faves were the Cosmos and the Nintendo World Championships 1990 Gold cart. Oh how I wish I'd contributed those and can take them home...

Yeah me too. I didn't contribute the gold NWC 1990 cart but would have gladly given all that i sent and my left nut for it.

I LOVED BROWSING THE MUSEUM! One of my favorite pieces:

http://img.ranchoweb.com/images/tedrancho/sega_neptune.jpg

It was a nice opportunity to see one of these units in person. I also loved the rare and unreleased Nintendo carts like Mr. Gimmick, Devil World, and Probotector, and the Revenge of the Jedi NES box art.

The NES R.O.B. robots were also cool, the early Nintendo Power magazines (I have them somewhere at my parents' house), the Sharp Twin Famicom, the Coleco ADAM computer (I remember playing Buck Rogers on a tape!), the Sega Master System demo kiosk, the Atari 2600 "Mystique" (i.e. Adult) games like Custer's Revenge... There was just a ton of rare gaming memorabilia!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the Museum.

I really enjoyed it!!

That big script book for the unreleased Sonic game was fucking amazing. Who owns that?

Also, those three "unreleased" NES games mentioned above are just PAL releases. Hell, Probotector is nothing more than Contra. I think the only true unreleased game in there was my Hero Quest proto, but I may be wrong.

My favorite piece was the original artwork for Warlords. Just a huge, amazingly beautiful piece of art.

Arcadia VI was an unreleased NES NTSC proto. That was there as well.[/quote]

The Hand Held collection was incredible. It must have taken a few decades to put that one together.

were neat.

Leonard Herman's personal blow up toy.

You're just upset because you couldn't borrow it Saturday night when you spent the night in your hotel room.

Are you guys referring to the Beefsteak Tomato?

BTW, I missed the Neptune in all the pix I've seen so far I guess... Is it a WORKING prototype?

I agree with Sniderman; the original Warlords artwork was very interesting to see. Although I wasn't 100 percent sure that it was the original artwork since I didn't see one of those descriptive placards for it like most of the other items had. And I was surprised that it wasn't displayed a little more prominently... But yeah it was good to see, and the Backgammon artwork was there as well!

I also liked seeing the uncommon consoles and those Atari Halloween costumes. There are a few more photos on my website (http://gamechambers.com/CGE2K3.htm) if anyone's interested.

I unpacked and set up both the Warlords and Backgammon art. Looked them over *reeeeeeeeeeeal* good too during set-up. Trust me, they were real, original, hand-drawn art. Beautiful to look at.

Prime reason for that was that they were *heavy*! I'd have to estimate maybe 50+ pounds each! There was no way either of those was gonna hang on those flimsy carpeted walls with the push-pins we had! :D And no one really thought of getting a couple of easels or some-such to better set 'em up.

I *was* surprised there were no cards for them, but most folks knew what they were. I'd be interested to find out where they came from/who owns them now/where they surfaced from. They were'nt there last year, so they're a recent acquisition.

Hey, I was just glad they were there! After looking them over I was pretty sure that they were the originals.

Given that situation, placing the artwork on sturdy tables was probably a good decision. I just wonder how much more attention they would get if displayed museum-style in an unobstructed space. And showing examples of the final game boxes (!) might add impact as well.

Many thanks John Hardie and Sniderman!

I couldn't help but notice that the Magnavox Odyssey was short the Shooting Gallery light gun. I would say I can help with that next year, but I can't think of a way of getting it there that wouldn't get me charged with something... LOL

I am still blown away by the handheld table! Each year I have seen it.

Awesome Rik. Simply Awesome.
