Both VentureBeat (http://venturebeat.com/2013/12/01/peggle-2-coming-to-xbox-one-on-dec-9-with-lots-of-new-features-preview/) reports that Peggle 2 has been given a release date by developer PopCap, though the company has yet to make an official post on its own site (http://www.popcap.com/peggle-2).
VentureBeat also reports several new gameplay elements, such as pinball bumpers to keep your balls on the playing field (no laughing, you) as well as new helpers like Jeffrey, the beer-drinking troll.
