2014 Video Game Summit announced

The date of the show will be July 12th, 2014 from 10am to 6pm at The
Heron Point Convention Center,665 West North Avenue , Lombard,IL
(adjacent from the Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel)
Admission is $5.00 per person (children 12 and under with an Adult
are Free) and booths are $30.00 (a booth consist of three
2 x 5 tables 2 side tables and one front table).

Video Game Summit Crowd Funding project
The Video Game Summit Staff and AVC Online announce our
second of many crowd funder t-shirt projects to come.

In October 13th, 2013 we started a trial run of Black VGS t-shirts which
only ran for 2 weeks, that didn’t go well. We we brought it back for another
try this time going for 21 days starting Dec 15th till Jan 5th 2014. the cost
of the shirts are 18.00 (our goal is to sell 30 or more before end of the project)
with the profits going toward the show. Also a new item has been added A Black Hooded
Sweat with the same designs as the black t-shirts also going for the 21 days
(same dates as black-t-shirt) at 34.00 (same goal as the shirt) Profits as well go toward the show.

On Sunday February 16th at 08:00 AM,
We launched our second crowd funder project which is for the
Black VGS t-shirt(18.00) and a New White VGS t-shirt(15.00)
these will run until March 9th at 11:00 PM Central (our goal will always be
for 30 of each before the end date (profit goal on black t-shirt
is 102.00 and white t-shirt 72.00) (the white t-shirt will be replacing the current t-shirt at

NEC Turbo-Fest Challenge announced

NEC Turbo-Fest Challenge announced for this years show.

Chicago, Illinois –03/02/14 – The Video Game Summit staff is proud to
announce the Return of The NEC Turbo-Fest Challenge,now in it’s fifth year
is being ran by our newest staff members Armando Rodriguez.

VGS Pre and Post gatherings announced

The Video Game Summit staff is pleased to announce the
return of the our Pre and Post show gatherings.
On July 11th, Our pre show gathering will be at the Underground
Retrocade in West Dundee,IL from noon to 5pm

And we're happy to announce that right after the show on
July 12th we will return to the Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, IL

Video Game Summit TV news

Video Game Summit (VGS) goes interactive with a new ustream channel and a Shout box

Since the start of the show in 2003 we have used AVC Online’s Ustream channel
(AVC_live now known as AVC news) to broadcast vgs news and live streaming

Following the steps from the success of the 2013 Harmony Games and two
special games from last year, We will once again bringing it back this year.

The Harmony Games is a High Score Club to celebrate the homebrew games of the
2600,in 2012 it was originally a 3 round tournament with the same games being
played at VGS'12. In 2013, with the success of the 2012 games it was decided to
expand the season from 3 rounds to 12 and with the introduction of Atarimania we
decided to include one round for those to play at the event to win a free ticket
to VGS'13(due to technical problems, it wasn't possible) and we also had special
game at VGS'13 as well,which went fairly well.

The 2014 Harmony Games start on April 14th and end on September 29th.

AtariMania is scheduled for May 17th,2014 from noon to 7pm

I found out due to new ownership the fairfield inn and suites will not be
renting out the heron pont convention cneter after this year.
So this will be our final year at heron, we have already planned to move to
best western plus in hillside,il heron was our fall back plan incase
we couldn't get it like this year.(which has happned)

Harmony Games to show case a rare game!!!

Two years ago we introduced the first annual Harmony Games Featuring 3 rounds
of games using the three different homebrew games with the finals ending at
VGS 12.
Since that went over big, AVC Online Chairperson,Daniel Iacovelli,
deiced to make it a full time High Score Contest being played on both
Atari Age and on AVC Online.
The Second game of the two special game Harmony Games
(being played in the seventh round of the Harmony Games starting 7/7/14)
