Hi,

I need to know if Sin and Punishment will work on PAL N64 with first version of Blaze SFX 64 Universal Game Adaptor.

Here is pictures of it:

I know that this game work with Blaze Universal Game adaptor V4, but this version is different - it have totaly different desing of cartridge. Versions V2 and V3 have design of cartridge same like this first version but is gray, not black.

If this game not work with this first version of SFX 64 adaptor / adapter i will but Passport Plus III.

Also i have one more question, if sombody have any version of Blaze SFX 64 Universal Game Adapter can yoy try if codes from Passport Plus III work on SFX 64 ?
Passport Plus III code for Sin and Punishment is:

E1100304 00000000
E93D0054 0000003F

So if it will work Sin and Punishment on old first version of SFX 64 with manualy added one of this codes ?

But anyway i not know if SFX 64 have also support for ading codes of games with is not in his menu... like it have Passport Plus III

PLEASE HELP ME, I NEED TO HAVE ANSWEAR IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS !!!

Can't you just cut out the tabs inside the N64's cartridge slot and you've got a region-free N64?

The odds of getting an answer within 4 hours is pretty slim... For one, most people on this board are from North America, so most of us don't know much about PAL stuff.

That only works for playing NTSC games on a different region's NTSC system (so playing Japanese games on a US N64 or vice versa). Playing NTSC games on a PAL system (or vice versa) gets a lot more complicated.

Ask over at RetroCollect, where there's more of a PAL community. We won't be able to help you.

No. As Aussie2B tell, for playnig NTSC games on PAL console or vice versa you need some "Import adaptor", not important if console is Japan or US - all NTSC N64 is almost the same, just have different little plastic tabs in cartridge slot.

I write some little more detail about these diferences, may be it will be interesting for colectors.

NTSC standard is 60hz and maximum NTSC resolution is 720x480, frame rate is 29,97.
PAL standard is 50hx and maximum PAL resolition is 720 x 576, frame rate is 25.

Here is NTSC and PAL standards definition on wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAL

So, PAL have little better picture quality but lower frame rate. This is on consoles sometime problem - if game company create game native in NTSC and than does not adjust the code(reprograming game) for PAL release, that game runs on PAL console slower.
On N64 some games have this problem, for example Wave Race 64 is not too much good PAL port - do not had better picture quality and is slover, NTSC version is better. More often is NTSC games better than PAL, especially early games.
Here comparision video:

Curiously some people think that PAL Wave Race 64 version is better, probably because is easier :-)

In oposite, games on N64 from European companys and some outside europe companys, has many time PAL version little better.
Good example is Shadow Man - when you use Expansion Pack and set high resolution mode in menu, than NTSC version has sometime problems(stuttering etc.) but PAL is OK and has little better graphic in both slow and high resolution.

Also Castlevania 64 has better graphic in PAL( and has less bug's but this is probably because was released in Europe later, so Konami had time for corrections)

But this is not topic about differences between PAL and NTSC versions of games, is about what you need for playing NTSC game on PAL console or vice versa.
So cartridge has also region chip, Japan and USA games has the same region chip but PAL not.
This is reason why most of Import adapters have one cartridge slot for boot cartridge (here you put game with proper region chip for your console) and second slot for game what you like to play. Also Import Adaptor must adapt game to different frequency and resolution.
Here is video demostration:

And to my decision - i not buy first version of SFX 64 adapter. Previously I did not notice that unlike later versions of Blaze Ultra SFX 64 Universal Game Adaptor V2, V3 and final version with name Universal Game Adaptor V4, first version not have slot for boot cartridge. Maybe he has region chip in itself, or is it just straight through cartridge.
I buy Passport Plus III which is known as the second best Import Adaptor or some later version of adaptor from Blaze.
Best is his(Blaze) Universal Game Adaptor V4, but is twice as expensive as Passport Plus III.

If someone like to play PAL game on NTSC console it works on these adaptors too(or adapters but Blaze have in name word adaptor).
These 5 games is PAL exclusives:
F-1 World Grand Prix II
F1 Racing Championship
HSV Adventure Racing
Premier Manager 64
Taz Express

But NTSC exclusives is more.
