Ebay bucks changes

Anyone else get the email from them regarding the changes to the ebay bucks program on ebay? Basically starting in 2014, if you don't make $5 or more with your quarterly ebay bucks, you FORFEIT THEM. Basically, under $5, you don't get them, at all. Total greed bs.

Considering this whole program didn't even exist for the first 15 years Ebay was in existence, I don't see how it's greed BS. It's a totally optional program that rewards frequent buyers.

So it's perfectly ok that if I don't earn $5 or more in a 3 month period i forfeit what i earn in my 2% rewards?? Um no, that's called greed, son.

So at 2% you have to spend >$250 to receive any kind of kickback. I don't like it, but as a frequent user reward program it seems on par with other similar programs.

i honestly don't see a problem. I mean if you hand out 1 dollar over a 3 month period, it probably isn't worth it to Ebay to manage all that nor is going to get spending up. Look at it this way, they probably hand out a whole lot of small amounts under $5 dollars to people who aren't repeat customers of Ebay. I bet a lot of users make very few buys in a 3 month period.

First of all, don't call me son. Second of all, actually, it is perfectly ok. Anything you earned from October-December 2013 will be paid out even if it's under $5 and this new policy doesn't start until January 1, 2014. So, if you don't like the policy, just don't use Ebay after January 1st and you'll have nothing to worry about.

This quarter I have no problem, I normally take in quite a bit during the holiday quarter to begin with, like most folks. So it's fine if I don't have enough i forfeit it? Wow, that's messed up...

Nothing messed up about it. Ebay has made you aware of the new policy. It doesn't go into effect until January 1st which is after the prior quarter closes and you are paid out. Did you complain for the 15 years Ebay had no such incentive policy? It's a totally free benefit that costs you nothing, so there literally is nothing to complain about. Almost every reward program I have ever been part of has similar thresholds and since this particular program costs me nothing, I am losing nothing if I don't meet the $5 per quarter threshold. You're not entitled to Ebay Bucks. Ebay created this program and can change the terms at any time with notice including eliminating them completely.

ebay raised the fees on sellers to pay for this program. At the time, they knew that some of the kickbacks would go unclaimed and pass into the company coffers. This latest change ensures that even more of the fees stay in their pockets. It's greedy and dishonest, no matter how you spin it.
