Just curious as to what peoples favorite music from this incredible system is.
Here's two of mine that I never see on any lists but I love them:
Wild guns Carson City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq0eKI3mVUI)
Wario's Woods versus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONdHZiK7R7E)

When I think of best I try and remember stuff that was so clean and amazingly well orchestrated it almost felt like it was not of a SNES game cartridge. The sound tracks (especially the overworld symphony pieces) in Act Raiser come to mind, but also most of Uematsu's work on both FF2(4) and FF3(6) as well. Super Castlevania IV has some really fantastic and haunting pieces (especially the first stage and then the one a few later in a cave as it has a wicked sad/soft tune with an echo to it.) Rock and Roll Racing, Secret of Mana and Ys 3 have some great scores too.

The soundtrack for Star Fox has to be mentioned in any thread like this. There's room for criticism in several areas of that game but the soundtrack definitely isn't one of them.
I'm also pretty fond of the music in Top Gear.

I would also add the entire DKC 2 soundtrack as well as a few songs from DKC 1 to my favorites.
DKC2 will always be my favorite game and soundtrack on the system. I use to go on the sound test and just play songs while doing my homework as a kid haha.

Holy Hell!!! Thats a FANTASTIC one!!!
Why haven't I heard that song before??? So many people plug the same songs and soundtracks over and over again (Usually for good reason), but its so refreshing to hear something thats not just new to me, but a shining example of the Snes soundchip.
I thought It HAD to be composed by a chiptune master like Tim Follin, but a quick look shows it was by a couple of guys I have never heard of. I'll have to check out the handful of other Snes games they composed.

Huh. I'd never paid attention to Eek the Cat either. But I have heard of Barry Leitch & Dean Evans. They're Ocean's in-house composers and more importantly have a long pedigree on the C-64 and Amiga:

While no at the absolute top of my list, Sim City had a great soundtrack.
Otherwise pretty much all the stuff that everyone else has already mentioned.
