Pretty darn good port. It's cool that they added some optional bonuses that are unlocked by how many thugs you've beaten. I just love me some Final Fight.

First time playing this one. Surprisingly short and easy. It's definitely a unique and cool game, though I don't see why there is so much hype about it.

These were my first experiences realllllllly immersing myself in a Zelda game, I had watched my brother play Ocarina a ton in the late 90s but never played them myself, I was totally missing out. I love how the original Zelda on NES feels set apart from most NES games, it's not too hard like many NES games, and feels more like I was playing a Zelda game, as opposed to an NES game. Hard to explain. But yea. No gaming experience like these two games.

Finally got this one to work on my Turbo. It's a fun little game, but the power-ups(which usually last only about 15 seconds or so) are a bit of a letdown. Still, a fun, simple little game.

I finished Catherine great game. The puzzles were at times tough for me and it was on the easy setting. I love the voice acting and story. its funny how voice actors are in many different games that Ive played. The three main characters and the supporting cast being in Persona 4, Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Resident Evil 6. Highly recommend this game. I'll give the next difficulty setting a go when Ive finished other games. Right now Im on the second disc of Resident Evil 0. Left off about probably 2 or maybe even three years ago. Im totally lost!

Helluva game. I had a darn good time with this one. I loved the difficulty of this shmup. The first few stages are a breeze and this lets you get a good feel for the game and it's somewhat confusing powerup system. About the 5th stage it starts to get challenging, and the final stage can be a real pain(but isn't overly long, just needs a good run to make it through). I dig the music and like the graphics, even though they are nothing spectacular.

Catherine's amazing. I would say it's more worth playing again cuz it has 6 different endings, depending on the decisions u make in the game. I only played thru it once, it does get tough at times, I did use a walkthrough for one level, I remember, but after that I got through it. The super heavy emphasis on story is what makes u keep playing.

This game was wonderful. Exactly what you'd expect from a LBP game. Genius level design. The story wasn't too long, I bought the game last night and beat it already. It just keeps u on the edge of ur seat to wanna keep platforming more. I'm gonna hafta delve into the online material now to totally get the most outta this game. Wow. ::Applause-Applause::. As for the glitches and bugs I heard people gripe about, had almost no issue. I had one little glitch happen, but that was it, and I just beat the game.

What an awesome little game. For those unfamiliar, which I know most ppl are, this is a first-person view puzzle game and it's awesome. It's on The Orange Box game which is weird sounding and has unappealing artwork on the cover but this amazing game is on it. I'll now hafta get my copy of Portal 2 back from my buddy to play that one.

Very fun game, but takes a while to hit it's stride. Toward the beginning and middle of the game there are far too many cutscenes, not that I don't enjoy the humor and style, but there are just too damn many of them. It breaks up the action needlessly and bogs things down. The last few chapters really picked up. Loved music, graphics, and most of the combat. Very cool to hear Andy Williams' rendition of Moon River while the credits roll!

Damn good. Number one complaint I read was about how the game was short. Wasn't amazingly long, but it felt appropriate for what I payed. Chock full of South Park references and in-jokes, well paced, lots of hidden crap to find...fun game. Only real complaint is about the loading times. Every other screen has to interrupt the flow of the game to load stuff. Seems like that could have been streamlined or something. Do recommend, but it helps to be a South Park fan going in.

My progress had really slowed down as I kept playing longer games that take a great deal of time to beat. I have been working on Final Fantasy VII and Suikoden II ever since I finished Suikoden. Over the last couple weekends I decided to play more of the games I never finished from around when I first started gaming. In the process I beat these games according to the rules NintendoAge members set as qualifications to consider the games as beaten (since these ones have no end.):
38. Duck Hunt - NES
39. R.C. Pro-Am - NES
The qualifications listed for Duck Hunt are to "beat the high score in all 3 modes: 1 Duck, 2 Ducks and Clay Shooting" I didn't just do that because honestly that just means beat level 1 without missing any of the targets. Instead, I got pretty far. In 1 duck mode I made it to the point where you are not allowed to miss any ducks. Somewhere in the level 20's. In the other modes I didn't do quite as well but I still got pretty far.
The qualification for beating R.C. Pro-Am is to get past level 24 as the game repeats all of its levels starting on 25. I made it to level 26 or 27. Level 24 was really interesting because it is a long track of endurance with 9 laps, no powerups and no obstacles. If you ever make it here, you would be best to have really stocked up on ammo. Around 50-60 pieces of it if you want to be sure to win. The other vehicles use speed boosts that you can't use and running into walls can give them a chance to catch up.

Well, here's the final tally for 2014. I definitely slowed way down in the latter half of the year. I think part of that is due to me starting to write game reviews, but also because some of the recent game releases had me continuing games long after I had already beaten them (Smash for 3DS/Wii U, Destiny, Pokemon, etc.) Overall it was a good year, and at 51 games, I was able to finish three more games than I had last year. While I was hoping to work through more of my backlog this year, I am happy that I beat far more games than I bought, so that's always a good thing. Well, here's to next year and I look foward to seeing you all in the 2015 thread. Happy new year! :bday:

With all the crap I have to get done today and WoD eating up my time, I doubt I'm going to beat anything else before the day is out. So I'm calling it.
44 games beaten in 2014.
34 games completed to 100% in 2014.
System break down:
PSN - 20
Steam - 15
PS3 - 2
3DS - 2
PS4 - 2
iPhone - 1
PC - 1
Beat and complete numbers are up from last year, slightly, but still lower than the three years prior to 2013. Still, not a bad haul. Hope to get better use out of my PS4 in the coming year and maybe clear out all those PSN+ RPGs my PS3 has been holding.
