The one item I really wanted was the Nintendo hotline helpbooks...but being $300 short at the time didn't help. Have fun with those dave and I will see them one of these days.

I can vouch for the awesomeness of the game counselor books. We were looking at them for like, two hours, making fun of the drawings and stuff.

Built in NES on a TV...that sounds cool. I would have bid on that if I had gone.

And the game counselor books would be cool to own. congrats to the high bidder.

I put 4 items in the auction. This is "approximate", I don't know the exact amount:

Dragon's Lair trading cards complete box of 36 packs: $45.
Dragon Ball Z GT US: $110.
Radiant Silvergun Saturn complete: $150.
Merlin's Walls 2600 complete: $80.

Hans Reutter was keeping the totals for each item, when it's available I'll point you to the complete list.

Having Janice at the auction REALLY helped keep things moving. If you'll recall we used to plunk stuff down on the podium and people would come up to get a closer look. Having the item walked around worked out much better. That tradition will stick for sure.

I nabbed the Dragons Lair Cards. They are swell. They will go nicely with the signed poster I got a couple of years ago.

What was the SNES game that sold for like $320? Speed Racer??? I didn't get a good look at it.

The mint Odyssey that didn't sell was awsome! :o

Mountainbike Rally/Speed Racer, a 2-in-1 cart for that Exertainment Bike. They're very expensive, but not *that* expensive.

I won that at the auction--it is very cool but was a bitch figuring out
how I was going to get it home. Had to go dumpster diving at the
Plaza to find a big enough box, then I *borrowed* some of the Plaza's
towels as wrap, and thanks Packrat Video Games for the wrap-tape.
You should have seen some of the looks I got at Mccarran airport.
LOL LOL
Anyways it made it home and still works fine!

Aye, but it was fun to get in on the "holy shit, did he just bid what I think he just bid?" action. ;)

Wow! that's very cool.

Did the built-NES have the blinking problem or you can plugged the cart like in the Top Loader ?

I know of a few auction items:

N64 Fiber Optic Sign: $90.00
MBR/Speed Racer - $310.00
Game Play Counselor Handbook - $330.00
Hands Free Controller - $90.00

Kitsune Sniper

Dragon Ball Z GT US: $110.

...

If I owned that game, I'd pay someone $110 to take it away from me. I can't understand why would someone pay so much for such an awful game...

Answer: Only 5000 made. Regardless of whether it's good or bad, it's collectible.

It is like a toaster nes-I replaced the connector to get rid of the blinking.
It works great! :)

The best auction item was the 2600 Condor Attack that Marty had to keep increasing his own bid on. He finally got to $180 and hit the reserve. Poor kid :)

Considering this game is nearly impossible to find, I didn't have a problem bidding on that. I haven't seen one on ebay, and know of only 3 that people own. Does anybody else have that game?? Do you have this game, Joe??

I was bidding on that game for someone else, he has one now, I have one and I believe DNG has a cart only of that game. I am sure there are more, but they aren't popping up yet.

I was shocked at how much the game play counselor book went for. I flipped through it, and it looked like a couple of 3-ring binders with a bunch of 2nd or 3rd generation copies of info on NES games... It was cool, but is it $330 cool?

Who won that binder?!? I've always hoped to get access to that infomation at some point in time...I'd like to see what they have for the game Magician.

Me too, Adam. Unfortunately, there's nothing in the three binders I looked through on Magician.

FYI folks I have the 3rd binder, the infamous 'RPG binder', and it will probably go up for sale in the next week or so. Also eventually going up will be another blue binder which is the actual training material that the game play counselors use to complete the two week paid training course to become a game play counselor. if you want I can make an announcement in the B & S when I put them up for sale.
