I noticed during the past year, CPS2 Arcade board prices have generally doubled (at least on ebay). Games that used to sell for 50-75 are now selling for 100-125.

the $200-300 boards such as Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Hyper Street fighter 2 and Progear are now selling for $400-600

I'm part of the fighting game so, I realize just last month, someone created a UD-cps2 to allow CPS2 boards to be easily played at home, but this trend has been going on since before he released it for sale... I've also noticed a lot of phoenix editions being sold almost on par to legitimate non-suicided boards. (which i think is dumb, especially for the more expensive games. Honestly, someone could have flashed Progear on to a COTA board...)

This is pretty wild. I can't really think of anything that would cause these boards to rise so much in price or demand.

Is there any news or development I've missed on these boards that's caused interest to rise? or is ebay just so oversaturated that people realize that many laypeople are ordering arcade boards and don't know the market outside of ebay and are thus charging more because they can get away with it...?

Arcade machines are picking up gear in the collecting circles. So boards, and good machines are slowly rising in price from what I've seen.
