I been looking for a copy of this game for a while. I found a Gamecube copy for cheap on eBay. I know there's a ps2 version also.

I know that the PS2 and GC version were released 2 years apart.

Is there a difference between the 2?

top of my head....

You can play it on Wii = higher resolution for the game. + lil bit smoother

I think the only difference is that on Gamecube version something get switched from PS2 look alike to a karaoke machine instead as part of a plot

Wii offers no benefits during GCN playback. Games perform as they always did and they retain the same output options. No enhancements are done.

I have no experience with the PS2 original, but I downloaded the PC game when it was new and loved it. Shortly afterwards, I bought the GCN release since I had enjoyed it so much and again had a great time, this time playing through the single player campaign. The fun is retained and even the gamepad isn't an issue since this is a RTS for everyone unlike the direction a series like Command & Conquer has taken where if you haven't been playing for 20 years, it's a daunting experience that is made all the more difficult when playing a console conversion.

If more of the Army Men games had been this good, I bet this franchise would still be kicking today.
