View Full Version : Import Sega Cd Games with Genesis Datel Action Replay?

I was wondering if it is possible to import sega cd games using the datel action replay? I know it works for mega drive games, but was wondering if this works for sega cd as well. I already know about the everdrive MD solution to sega cd imports but the datel action replay is cheaper.

I believe you need a region-unlocker cart.
But the ones I heard about were developed during the lifetime of the Sega CD, so compatibility was kind of off as developers would try to detect them.

Yeah I'm starting to think everdrive md might be what I need for that. I really wanted to buy the japanese version of Third World War because of the hilariously awesome cover art:

Edit: Actually I think I could make a cd disc copy of it on my computer and play it that way, I just read this article on racketboy about it:
