Yeah, I'm pretty excited for this one. It's by Hideo Kojima, famed director of the Metal Gear series, and all of his titles are top-notch when it comes to presentation, graphics, and gameplay.

And Japan is getting a Limited Edition SP (http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3020) for the game. Then again, haven't they gotten like 4 or 5 special edition SP's?

The GBA Carry case looks rather lovely too. :)

Okay, who finds this just a TAD bit goofy, especially since an original unmodded GBA is hard as hell to see under light?

Although It's a cool idea, im with it being goofy :/ . I mean think about it the carts go in the bottom of the SP. So It wont be exposed to Sunlight, you know?Although Its a cool Idea, I think it might be a failure.

Yeah, it does seem a bit strange, but ya can't knock em for
trying something new. I'm sure i'll buy it.

I actually hope it's a failure so not much good comes out of it! LOL

I'm not going to sit outside and play my GBA (unless there's a power outage or something). What next, an attachment that is like a stethoscope that you plug to your chest, and jog with while you play (like a power pad game). I'd even laugh if I saw someone doing something wacky like that. Will there be a GameCube thing for this, where you have to cart your TV outside and play outside? Nintendo keeps trying at these weird ideas, *shakes head*

I guess there's something wrong with my GBA then - I can only see the screen if there's a ton of light shining on it.

I hope they try MORE oddball stuff like this "sun" thing. If anything, I say, "it's about time!"

*continues to applaud companies for not being afraid to try something new*

I found that the original GBA was easiest to see under open sunlight.

Apparently this game's gimmick was big enough to warrant mention on CNN, where they usually only bring up video games when someone's blaming them for excessive violence, murders and rotisserie pigs.

Is anyone left saying "Please don't let this be the "BIG SUPRISE" from Nintendo this year?"

So, it's nice that Nintendo isn't "afraid", when have they been? They keep making gimmicks that they support for a year then let die. Don't expect too many of these things.

Is it game by game basis then? Or is it a solar power system? I'm a tad confused.

It's only a game. :/ .

This game uses sunlight to alter play. That's it! :) A nifty little gimmick.

Um, GBA games are region free, so you can buy one of those sweet import special edition GBA's and play the games just the same.

So it really doesn't matter if we get specials GBA's or not.

As for this game, I'll stick to Castlevania.

FYI - The States are getting RED (GLOSSY/RUBY LOOKING) and BLACK GBA SP's later this year. It's mentioned in the new Nintendo Power.

I'm waiting for the BLACK one before I consider. I know there's a Japanese BLACK GBA SP that's been out, but I won't pay import price.

Either way, I would need a 'grip' adaptor before I'd buy. Something that makes it wider. I've tried using an SP and it's extremely uncomfortable to hit the L + R buttons with the base of my fingers. Either that or I have to curl my fingers back, and that feels very unnatural.

Technically it's Ruby & Onyx and they should be out in about a month or so.

Sad thing is, it's not really that great a game, judging from what I've read about it on Kobun Heat (http://kobunheat_a.pitas.com). It's supposed to be really repetitive. I played a little of it on an emulator and while the game engine was solid, I could see how it could get boring quickly.

::Looks at his post, realizes he didn't say "hard as hell to see no matter HOW much light you have"::

I play games so I WON'T have to go outside to entertain myself...

Anyways, this sounds like a bad idea. It reminds me a bit of that game (I forgot the name) that was different depending on the time of the day. If it was night in real, it was night in the game too. Too bad for all those people that only play at night.

And since it's a Hideo Kojima game it'll probably be a cinematic gimmick that's fun for only a few hours.

Hey! Speak for yourself! That's a game a fatass like me could get some use out of. ;-)

You sir are thinking of Pokemon Gold & Silver (and probably several others from the series)

But what about SAFETY? You'll be jogging, but paying attention to the GBA screen and not where you are going. You might run into a tree.

Well just wear the shoes with the mirrors on them.

You know... the pair you use to look up girls skirts.

Huh you don't have a pair like that?

:embarrassed: Uhh neither do I.

BTW: Anyone ever play Robopon?

Its a pokemon ripoff.

A gameboy color game which also had a special sensor in it.

I picked the game up used and the characters in the game kept telling me to use the TV remote to open a certain chest. I looked all over the game and couldn't find a TV remote anywhere.

Finally I went to Gamefaqs and found out I actually needed a real TV remote. I couldn't see the forest for the trees.

LOL
