Hopefully this is able to get posted without getting a redirect about a Database Error. ^^;

Dropped by Gamestop yesterday again after being in on Friday. When I was in on Friday, I saw a pair titles for PS3 that were marked down to $40.99 new. The titles were Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness and The Guided Fate Paradox. I inquired if they had any in stock sealed and the girl showed me them. Both titles had their soundtracks still and they had ample copies. I had built up Power Up Reward points for a while and decided to redeem them for $$$ off coupons. What sucks is I had enough for $40 in coupons but didn't think they'd stack so I only cashed out for $25 and $10. When I went to pay, the two coupons stacked on the first game which meant I could have cashed out for another $5 coupon if I had wanted. :| At any rate, both of those sealed with soundtracks for $50 isn't too bad at all. :)

It doesn't look like there's much chance of getting out today because of freezing rain. Damn you Winter, go Away!!:grrr::angry:

Couple of finds and stories as I am Vacationing in Florida.

First Flea Market: huge turd. Retro Game vendor there, saw bare reg. N64 for $75 and NES Darkwing Duck for $60 and walked away immeditaly. Another vender there with garbage in plactic bins everywhere. Found Addition for Ti 99 and some power adaptors but the guy wante $5 each so walked away from that. Ended up finding a Berry GBC in good shape for $5 so was kinda fun.

Play N' Trade: Went in not expecting much, but had a ton of retro stuff, nothing like the turd one by me in Illinois. Ended up getting Crossed Swords ($40) and King of Monsters ($55) for NEO GEO. Seemed like an ok deal with both games in cases in ok condition. My Dad bought 3 CIB Jaguar games (Raiden, Cheeta Guy?, and Iron Soldier) for $40.

Tons of Thrift Shops: So much garbage or overpriced but ended up getting very nice complete Prince of Persia DOS big box for $3. Exactly like the one I had growing up, my first video game ever.

2nd Flea Market: Started slow but ended up with 3 loose sega CD games (Chuck Rock II, PoP, and...I forget ) for $1. Also got Game Gear Game Genie for $5 and $15 for Run Saber NES from a vendor with mostley overpriced games but some good buys hidden.

Another GB lot for resale.

Listed at $19, Haggled down to $13.

Games:

Donkey Kong Country (GBC)
Super Mario World (GBA)
Crash Bandicoot Huge Adventure (GBA)
Scooby Doo (GBA)
Harry Potter Goblet of Fire (GBA)
Sprit Stallion of the Cimmaron (GBA)
American Tail: Fievel's Gold Rush (GBA)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (GBC)
Mary Kate and Ashley Get a Clue! (GB/C)
Mary Kate and Ashley Crush Course (GBC)
Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16 (GBA)
Mary Kate an Ashley Girls Night Out (GBA)

Gonna Keep DKC and Crash Bandicoot. Already got a copy of GBA SMW and don't care about the rest so it'll be an easy resell for what I paid and more.

EDIT: Seller contacted me again this morning and said she'd throw in an extra free game, "Sonic". Not sure which one it is, but I'll find out when I get it. Funnily enough I threw in an extra game in a lot I sold just yesterday, so maybe Karma does exist. :)

03/04/14: Haggled down a $21 lot to $14 with some new additions for my beloved game gear.

Lot contents:

For-Parts GG (Power issue...likely bad caps, as with 99% of GG issues)

SEGA GG/Genesis 2 OEM AC Adapter (Usually don't find these in GG lots. Surprised that I don't seeing as how much of a battery drainer the Gear is.)

Jurassic Park GG (With Manual+Case) (Already have a copy of the cart, but at least I can add the manual to my collection. Content-wise, one of the best games on GG, easily.)

Star Wars GG (With Manual+Case) (Port of the NES Star Wars game with some extra levels. Seems to go for slightly more than the average GG game, though by no means is it a rare/valuable title. Pretty good game overall.)

Ecco The Dolphin GG (With Manual+Case) (No idea how I didn't have any GG eccos until now. Common, but just as good as the
Genesis one.)

James Pond 2 GG (With Case) (Pretty nice port of Robocod that seems far rarer than it is valuable/desired.)

Reselling the AC Adapter and Jurassic Park should break me even (seriously, god knows why but OEM adapters seem to hit $12-15 on ebay regularly) and once I get to fixing up all of my Junk gears I'll either have a nice bit o' profit on my hands, or gifts for fellow retro enthusiasts :)

Found this Atari 8-bit Romox Fortune Hunter in a mom and pop game store today. The price was $5, which the owner took out of the value of the trade-in stuff I had brought with me.

Got a copy of Pac-Man Collection on GBA for $1, on ebay, with free shipping. Hope it doesn't end up costing the seller more to ship it than he sold it for :P

First electronics flea market of the year wasn't a total loss. Couple insanely priced vendors but nothing outside of the usual morons that don't seem to understand the vibe of what that flea market entails. One guy had the type of stuff that a lot of us are out there for - boxes of old computers, lots of peripherals, old software - at solid prices. Some old coot got a boxed Odyssey light rifle from there for next to nothing and I suppose that was the find of the day that I had missed. That kind of pissed me off because I know it's just going to get thrown in the back of another garage and degrade more. I hope that vendor is out there again next month as it was just enjoyable to dig through boxes of generally interesting stuff - kind of like the old days of flea markets. From him I got a boxed complete DMS Tele-Action Mini TV Game Pong clone based on Odyssey Pong architecture and a SNES Game Genie for $5.00.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2014-03-08%2801%29.jpg

On the other side of the lot I dug out a PS2 HDD for $5.00 down from $7.00. It's just the enclosure, stand and drive but it looked pretty clean. Generally I skip this stuff but it has a sticker on the back claiming it "PROPERTY OF VISUAL CONCEPTS" whom I believe developed the Sega Sports / 2K Sports series. I don't have a power supply or the set up to see what's on the drive but this is going to go up for sale if anyone is interested.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2014-03-08%2802%29.jpg

On the way out I spotted a Victorinox SAK on a table of unassuming electronics components. It was in excellent shape, new shape to be honest with factory oil on all the tools and unworn scales. The seller wanted $7.00 and I suppose I could have talked him down to $5.00 but I know a Spartan is generally a $20 knife and it was brand new so I didn't mind paying asking price. I think I'll use this one as my workday carry as I generally have my Cybertool 34 or Troubleshooter on me but those are a bit too thick for when I'm at work.

Last finds for a little while. More gameboy carts but hang in there, there's some stuff here you don't see every day.

Nabbed this last week:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/Nzk4WDE0Njg=/z/KM0AAOxy0bRTFM-X/$_57.JPG

19 Game GB/C/A Lot, all tested and working - $31.50:

(rarer/more valuable titles bolded)

Darkwing Duck (GB)
Batman (GB)
Solar Striker (GB)
Super Scrabble (GB)
Tetris 2 (GB)
Mortal Kombat (GB)
Sports Illustrated Champ. Football (GB)
Bionic Commando Elite Forces (GBC)
Yugioh Dark Duel Stories (GBC)
Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX (GBC)
Golden Sun The Lost Age (GBA)
WarioWare Twisted (GBA)
Super Monkey Ball Jr. (GBA)
Lego Star Wars II (GBA)
Ultimate Spider Man (GBA)
DBZ Collectible Card Game (GBA)
Pirates of the Carribean (GBA)
Dogz (GBA)
Super Hornet FA 18F (GBA)

I've already got a copy of twisted that I've held onto since kidhood, so flipping that along with most of the GB and GBA games. Keeping Darkwing, Batman, Solar Striker, Bionic Commando, Golden Sun and Monkey Ball.

Now...here's where this gets interesting.

I spotted a lot of 4 gameboy/color games for $20 last night and immediately grabbed it. Why?

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTE4NFgxMDk5/z/9V4AAOxy3HJTGkQr/$_57.JPG

All four are multicarts. But not just any multicarts. While the top two seem bland as they come, and most likely just have a bunch of normal licensed GB games crammed on, The one on the bottom right is a chinese-made cartridge containing the "Sonic Adventure 7" AND "Super Mario 3 Special" bootleg original games, and carts like these are often the only way to actually physically own them. The one on the bottom left shows some promise for possible bootleg originals as well, but no guarantee. I plan to keep the one with guaranteed pirate originals included, but once I find out what's on all of these and make sure they're still working, I might sell the others sometime in the future, so keep on the lookout if you're interested in these types of unlicensed carts. (I'm not sure if I can sell them here, and I'm pretty sure ebay frowns on it, so I'll have to look around and see where it's acceptable)

Oh yeah, the other GB/C/A lot came in and the mystery sonic game was another copy of Sonic Advance.

no pic needed...

Pokémon X for $20 new at fred meyer right after I got off work.
some one brought in an ad and tried ad matching with ours and bought all of our stock, went over to fred meyer and they had a bunch in stock. thought it was a bogus ad that's why I went but it was legit.
wonder why they bought our stock out instead of theirs, was no limit on the ad

..................
The Razor Go Kart Drifter $30.00
http://www.razor.com/products/electric-ride-ons/ground-force-drifter/
..it took a charge, has good batteries..one rear wheel is missing a big chunk of rubber(seller hid that with a smile) ..I bought FOUR rear wheels for $10.00 on ebay,to be here on the 15th..
I took some rubber and filled in the missing chunk of rubber on the tire so that my Son could drive/test this Kart..

My ultimate Goal is to put Higher rubber tires on it for sidewalk use.
I’m thinking Maybe the Razor Dune Buggy Wheels will fit..(I just need to find some used-or a whole kart.
http://www.razor.com/products/electric-ride-ons/dune-buggy/

The Bike is a Razor MX350 2011 Model...It is RIGID,no suspension....I have a better “older” model MX350 that is taller, has a full suspension and bigger motor.

Seller Says,oh it’s good I ran it yesterday..Yea Right...$50.00..No way...He wanted to Flip a Coin for $30.00..I offered $20.00 and SOLD..
He also had razor scooters for was firm at $50.00 on them..
The battery was dead due to the fact that the mail molex plug melted putting 4 wires together...I cut that connector out and rewired....I left the charger on it overnight and it brought it back to life.it runs..
I also have an older parts bike MX350 so I pulled it’s motor and installed it onto this bike,I could probably flip all the parts to the better Frame but I want this smaller version set up for my daughter.
Seems RAZOR cheapened out on the MX350s

Right now I have the bike in pieces I’m going over the whole thing..

Yesterday we had out two bikes.MX500/MX350...Finally-SNOW UGH

Otherwise the Flea Market was a Bust..

I bought four N64 games for $10.00 (ebay
A Spawn Figure $2.00 (ebay-for sale
and a pile of books for $1 each.

I keep being told that One Guy buys up all the bins of games right off the trucks early morning Quickly ..A few games in the top of a bin and it goes to him....he’s spending big bux on this stuff.....
Good For Him..But from buying from this flea market for so many years I’ve seen lots of junk in bins ..Sometimes being greedy can bite one in the AZZ..

Great deal! If you're going to modify it for sidewalk use you might also want to look into decreasing the turning radius. The Drifter karts eat up those rear tires like there's no tomorrow. There's something different between the rear wheels on the Drifter and the rear wheels on the Ground Force Go Kart, can't remember if it was the bearing size or what. The front wheels are identical on both models. The Dune Buggy wheel assemblies are still pretty expensive on Razorama, which is kind of surprising.

I miss my Razor Pocket Rocker PR200 that I did some power increases on. Never should have sold it when I moved. Their products aren't anything like they used to be - especially that stupid Crazy Cart.

There was a Flea Market at a local high school today. Was pleasantly surprised to find the Gameboy case not empty as it looked flat and a Pokemon Edition GBC inside $15. 3D Ninja Fighter LCD handheld. Very neat item and surprisingly fun to play $4. Pitfall II $3 in a random case of war memorabilia. Extra credit for people who know what system it is for (I guessed wrong).

Zama-san, you always put a smile in my face with your purchases; you really have an exquisite taste in games. I have been hunting bravely default CE because I missed the pre-orders on mexican stores (999 pesos) and after market they cost at least 1,700 pesos (130 usd)

Cheers, mate !.

I have never owned a wii or any wii games at all, until a few days ago I bought a huge collection. I scored a wii with approx 70 complete retail games, about 12 various controllers, and the wii has an SD card with 75+ virtual console games on it. All but 2 games are complete, which really blew my mind. Below are pictures of the games in the lot. I got a pretty amazing deal on the lot. Im truly amazed at how many good games the previous owner had.

I have that exact same handheld, I've had it since I was a kid. It really is a fun handheld. Now I should really try to dig it out again and check on the batteries. I don't think they would have held up over the last decade or so. This was before I made sure to take batteries out of consoles when storing them.

A lot of GB games had reprint runs later on, released by other companies and sometimes given ESRB ratings if they were late enough. This is probably one of them.

It's the same way Electro Brain reprinted Adventure Island GB and Sunsoft reprinted Darkwing Duck GB.

Had a VERY nice stroke of luck today with Game Gear.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/6yoAAOxyXzxTIgKz/$_12.JPG

Earthworm Jim
Aladdin
The Jungle Book
Deep Duck Trouble
Sonic 2
Sonic Chaos
The Lion King

EWJ is a rare that seems to run around $15 on its own. Don't have Aladdin and Jungle Book yet. Got the rest, resale fodder.

Paid a total of $12.50. My GG collection's grown pretty big, so VERY rarely do I find a lot with more than one game I actually want in it anymore, let alone a cheap lot with a pricier/rarer title (for GG standards anyhoo, $15 is peanuts for SNES).

PICK UPS:
Saturday:
I hit the flea late and didn’t find a thing,..my friends went early, picked up two GBC systems and a around 10 games for $20.00
Ps2 $5.00
two NES decks and 10 games $50.00

Also 1 thru 80 Ps2 magazine demo discs ..I made a trade for these and they will be for sale.

Today:
Nothing local..
Friend went game hunting,Garage Sales..
Handhelds and old transistor radios ..He gave me a call if I wanted anything,Everything on the table was double ebay price, these people were tough, firm on price..we tried to haggle but left with nothing..No skin of my back, nothing I needed or could sell ..

David:

I wanted to keep you updated ..
I got the 4 Wheels for the Ground Force Drifter from the seller on ebay ..
The seller listed them with one lousy pic as Ground Force Drifter wheels, but they were actually Ground Force Go Kart Wheels.
The front wheels fit and are good as spares but the rear wheels are much smaller.
For $10.00 and being the only used set on ebay I’m Happy..
The rear Ground Force Go Kart Wheels fit the rear axle on my Ground Force Drifter Go Kart but they slide onto the axle to far to tighten them with the nut on the axle..the keyway fits..so what I did was add some spacers and the Kart goes great.
However due to the straight rear end and both key-wayed wheels the Kart would only go Straight,It won’t turn so I removed a keyway to just have the left wheel pulling and the right wheel free wheel so it’s perfect now.
I’m still going to do the bigger wheel set up and if I find some used Ground Force Drifter Go Kart Wheels I’ll snag them...

The $20.00 MX350 2011 version cleaned up well,I installed a bigger motor, had to rewire the molex ends that melted 4 wires together..I painted the wheels and added what stickers I had around the house(racing stuff)
It goes Great..We had it out Saturday for over 2 hours and
If I had any bike to think the batteries would not come back to life it would of been this one..I think since the molex plug melted 4 wires together the bike wasn’t ran.just trashed around on and left outside.

I have two Razor Pocket Rocker PR200s one runs and the others just a roller(after flood Irene)..too bad you weren't local I’d let you have it..They pop up on CL and at flea markets, garage sales..I have passed up many at the flea market cause the price is usually 50 bucks and they are beast, missing the broke off front faring,no charger.

Here’s what I own:and would not mind selling /non running stuff.
Razor
Ground Force Drifter Go Kart (running
MX500 (running
MX350 (bigger version)(running
MX350 Small version(running
Razor Chopper (running

Surprised that MX350 came back to life so well. You're right about the PR200's, they're usually beat to trash by the time someone goes to sell them. When I got into the Razor electrics I was fortunate to have a Wal-Mart near my parent's place find a pallet of PR200's and a pallet of Ground Force Go Karts stashed out in their garden area a few months after Christmas. I guess they stuck them out there because the stockroom was full and never rotated them back in until discovering them in the spring. By the time the product was moved back in it was on clearance, $88.00 each. We bought a pair of PR200 bikes and one Ground Force kart. The bikes seemed to be different manufacturing revisions, with the one my uncle bought having a dead man's switch opposite the throttle. It was easily removed as it was just molex in between the electronics and the throttle. The motor and electronics on mine were rated at higher output for whatever reason and took to a beefier battery without issue. Between that and replacing all the bearings I could pull an extra 10MPH or so out of the "stock" motor and dramatically increase the range at regular speed. Used to get about two solid hours of on throttle pull with 230 pound me on it. Great little electric for zipping around local yard sales on the weekends in the summer. My youngest sister could haul ass on that thing, think she was about 11 at the time - used to be able to skid around on it.

The Ground Force Kart is what surprised me most as its little belt drive and rating of something like 120 pound capacity could easily carry an adult of up to 300 pounds without strain or wear to the mechanics. I would flip and rotate the front wheels every couple months so the tires wouldn't wear cone shaped but that little kart was a workhorse.

Lets warm this thread up a few degrees with an epic find from last night!!

Story

I'm going to be moving in a few weeks and I've been going through my garage getting my gaming stuff organized for the move. It's all my selling stuff so I'm trying to get a few things sold too. I found several consoles that only need a cord or two to get complete and wanted to get these on craigslist. My wife went out for the night and I decided that why not run to Goodwill since it's only about a mile from me and see if I got lucky and complete a few systems. I went on over and was browsing through the game section and started talking to another guy that was also looking for games too. We didn't find anything much and I walked off and started looking at the electronics section. I was browsing through the misc. section of cords and controllers and what not. I spotted three Logitech controllers that look like they were from the DOS era but then I caught the Nuon logo on them. They were marked at $1.99 each. I started making small talk with the same guy and he didn't have a clue about what it was or had even heard about it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/vintagegamecrazy/DSCI0783_zps8ad8a3a0.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/vintagegamecrazy/media/DSCI0783_zps8ad8a3a0.jpg.html)

I have never found more that a random Nuon scrap before this, occasionally copy of Ballistic and that's about it. I finally realize that I need to start searching for the system. I walk over to the DVD player and stereo section and sure enough, there it is! A Toshiba version in all its glory! Price $9.99!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/vintagegamecrazy/DSCI0784_zpsd7ae563e.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/vintagegamecrazy/media/DSCI0784_zpsd7ae563e.jpg.html)

Now I'm getting excited and knew there had to be games somewhere for this thing! Pretty Please! I realized that I hadn't looked through the DVD shelf which is on the opposite side of the game shelf and start browsing. This is all the way on the other side of the store now and I spot a beautiful copy of Tempest 3000 for $3.99 and start looking for more and find a copy of Freefall 3050 A.D. Oddly marked at $1.99 (why they're priced differently is beyond me since I know they didn't have a clue what these were and they price gouge in a heardbeat when they know what it is).

Grand Total $22.40 with tax and their %5 discount for purchases over $20

I was absolutely stoked on the way home and nearly lost it in excitement. I got home and hooked it up after I finished in my garage and it works flawlessly and I already have Ballistic so now I have three games for this crazy rare system!!

GB/GG stuffs as usual...

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTUyWDE2MDA=/z/3qUAAOxyrM5TGh9v/$_57.JPG

GB/GG Lot - $11.50 total.

Space Harrier (GG)
Drill Dozer (GBA)
Star Wars (GB)
Casper (GB)
NBA Jam (GG)
World Series Baseball (GG)
PGA Tour Golf (GG)

Everything but Space Harrier and Drill Dozer is for resale (Though I'm keeping those extra GG cases, can always use them.) I already have the GG port of that particular Star Wars game and it's most definitely superior, and Casper's nothing special, but both GB games keep at least a $4-5 value. I'll have to shovel the GG sports games into a lot to even get them to move.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/YZ8AAOxyhXRTLMBj/$_57.JPG

Bubble Bobble GG - $7

Didn't think twice on this one. Bubble Bobble is among the rarest Game Gear titles and regularly goes for at least double what I paid if not more.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMDY2/z/wSYAAOxyTMdTLSOU/$_12.JPG

GB 3-Game Lot - $5

Miner 2049er
Ren and Stimpy: Veediots!
Tetris

From what I can tell, Miner 2049er is kinda rare, but not very desired? I looked into it a little and most people seem to see it as a bad port, though it seems fun enough to me. Either way, 3 Non-sports GB games for $5 is something I'll seldom turn down, let alone a lot with a harder to find game in it. Nothing I want to play super bad, so it'll probably all go towards resale to offset some of the splurges like Bubble Bobble and Shining Force GG.

Picked up Little Big Planet Vita and Need for Speed Most Wanted, both for PS Vita, at $15 for both (basically $7.50 each). In reality it was a "But 1 Get 1 Free" deal, so I took advantage.

Pondering if I should pick up Playstation All Starts and Uncharted, both for PS Vita, for $15 (both together). Reason I did not pick it up was because I already have them in digital format, but have yet to actually play them.

Don't know what to do.

Drill Dozer's rumble is indeed the reason the cart is bigger.

Anyhoo, one last find for a while, this is the last thing I'm buying until I move the rest of my resale stock (so you guys won't see game gear stuff so often, sorry about that :P).

At the very least, goin' out with a bang. 7-game GG lot BiN for $14, so $2 a pop...

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/iAkAAOxyj4hTHMeq/$_57.JPG

The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Baku Baku
Zoop
Super Columns
Sonic 2
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Triple Trouble

Lost World in particular is the crown jewel of the lot because it's the last commercially-released game for the GG, all the way in 1997, and actually pretty good to boot. The cart alone EASILY hits $15 and seems to sell...oddly well for an obscure licensed game on GG. Baku Baku and Super Columns are two games I wanted to add to the collection for a while, and Zoop seems pretty fun (and not the easiest to come by) but not very desired so it'll be for keeps too. I've got too many sonics so the three sonic games here will definitely go to resale.

By the by, congrats to vintagegamecrazy for the nuon find! That seems like a rather interesting system.

My Mom's boyfriend raids the local electronics scrap bin near their apartment several times a week. He's gotten several 30+ inch flat screen TVs that were easy to repair for a few bucks in parts. He also saved several boxes of stuff for me and there was a ton more stuff that what I am posting. I only kept the stuff I wanted and tossed the stuff which was mostly useless PC parts back. The following was some great stuff that may really surprise many of you.

This is an old HP tape drive that's apparently worth a few bucks so I'm gonna sell it.

Very rough shape Mac Powerbook G4 (not even sure if it's good for parts at this point) Old HP Pentium M slimline tower (only 1.7Ghz. and gutted.) I have so many old parts lying around that I'm going to throw some of the less desirable ones in there and sell it for like $30-$40 or so with no Operating System.

This surprised the heck out of me and really caught me off guard. My mom said her boyfriend was even excited to find this just sitting in a bag. It's nearly flawless and I have tested it and it works like a dream and is really clean. This was fantastic as it's worth a ton of cash to resell. I don't know what I'm more excited about, finding it for free or knowing that it's spared a undeserved death!

Saturdays Flea Market was a bust ..
All I picked up was two pair of Motorcycle Racing Gloves..

Sunday:
I got a bunch of stuff in a meet up with another flea picker.

He gave me a Sega 32X Box,no system..The box has wear and it’s paperwork..but this plastic piece was bopping around in it..

I want to sell the piece as I know it’ll just wind up getting burried deep in my crap..

But I don’t know what it’s for..I tried to plug it in the bottom of as Sega Genesis 1 and 2 ..it does not fit..

I looked up various Ebay listings for 32X and Sega CD and noticed it within an auction but it does not state what it is.

Aw thanks! :) Grabbing Bravely Default CE for a reasonable price is quite slim right now, but hopefully, the hype will start to die down a bit by the summer months and the prices more desirable :band:

Now one more jewel to add to the collection:

So why is Drill Dozer in an over-sized cart like that? I have the game, but never even opened it, I'm afraid.

Crack it open as it is one of the most entertaining GBA games I have ever played and makes excellent use of the control setup of the system.

my march finds so far...

4th time trying to post this so it might get funky

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%201.JPG

first, my imports, all of this shipped (plus a PS3 game in another image) was about $40
the pokemon thing is Tretta Lab, goes with an arcade game and unfortunately the game pucks are missing from this one but it was only $3 and didn't add much to my SAL shipping

the rest are:
Gundam Chars Counter Attack $3 PSX
Mobile Suit Z Gundam very good complete with card $4 Saturn
Werid McDonalds Happy Meal game with Pa Rapper and Ape Escape $0.01 (I think) PS2
Rockman 5 $23.75 Famicom

Rockman was the whole reason for all this, I tossed in the rest for fun because it was cheap and they combine shipping
heres a few pics of how a 3DS XL fits into it...

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%202.JPG
http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%203.JPG

another crappy thing is I cant get the software downloaded, its not a regional thing its just not there any more. the web address for the software that was in the packaging goes to a 404 on nintendo's Japanese site
I might take it apart to see how this thing works any way, its odd there are 2 windows for the camera in the unit, the cards don't extend down infront of them either, maybe NFC to the system or possibly RFID to the unit it self because it has its own power source and it in no way makes a electrical connection to the 3DS so maybe its bringing info up in those windows and the software on the 3DS decodes it and displayes your pokemon puck stats and pokemon model...who knows its strange I think I am gonna take it apart

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%204.JPG

ANOTHER APF tv fun 401a, second one in about 3 months which is odd because its not a common unit.
it was $5
pokemon X was $20 NEW
Land Before Time games were $1 ea
Armored Core 4A (or For Answer) was part of my $40 bundle from japan it in it self was $4

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%205.JPG

3 Laser Discs $3.99 Ea
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Star Trek V
2001 a Space Odyssey

almost didn't buy 2001 because I don't like that movie but it was the only thing in that pile that held any value
amazon price for the others were about $3 bucks plus shipping and of course you don't know the real shape when buying online

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/march%20finds%206.JPG

and of course a Laser Disc player
Pioneer CLD-1090 with REMOTE! $30
3rd Laser Disc player I have bought, first one to have a remote
Manufacture Date of April 1991. It was close to death, I found the unit, and when you find a unit at a goodwill you know movies are near by and that's how I found the ones above, there were others but I knew these movies
Brought it home and it wasn't spinning discs, opened it up last night, cleaned the lens and it started spinning discs again and working, go fig. it could tell what kind of disc (CD or LD) was in there but it wouldn't spin them up.

cleaned the rest of it let it run through one whole side un interrupted of star trek twice while I gamed on HAWKEN and now it seems fine, Going to sell one of my other LD players soon-ish so watch the Classifieds if you want one

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTQ3NVgxNjAw/z/UN4AAMXQydtTNMEJ/$_57.JPG

ALL OF THESE ARE COMPLETE IN BOX.

Itchy and Scratchy Game
Adventures of Batman and Robin
Primal Rage
Judge Dredd (UK)
Power Rangers
Shinobi (UK release)

Total price? $36. $6 A POP.

CiB for any game gear game is pretty damn hard to come by (save for the majesco rereleases), and it's usually the only time GG collecting ever gets expensive outside of Mega Man. 3 days ago, JUST the box and manual for Itchy and Scratchy sold for $44 on ebay, and 3 months ago a complete UK Judge Dredd sold for the US equivalent of about $50. I'm at LEAST planning to sell enough of these to make up the purchase, so if anyone's interested in any, hit me up and I'll get back to you once they arrive with a decent price and tons of pictures.

Lets warm this thread up a few degrees with an epic find from last night!!StoryI'm going to be moving in a few weeks and I've been going through my garage getting my gaming stuff organized for the move. I started making small talk with the same guy and he didn't have a clue about what it was or had even heard about it.I have never found more that a random Nuon scrap before this, occasionally copy of Ballistic and that's about it. I finally realize that I need to start searching for the system. I walk over to the DVD player and stereo section and sure enough, there it is! A Toshiba version in all its glory! Price $9.99!Now I'm getting excited and knew there had to be games somewhere for this thing! Oddly marked at $1.99 (why they're priced differently is beyond me since I know they didn't have a clue what these were and they price gouge in a heardbeat when they know what it is).http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/vintagegamecrazy/DSCI0785_zps63c7a1a7.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/vintagegamecrazy/media/DSCI0785_zps63c7a1a7.jpg.html)Grand Total $22.40 with tax and their %5 discount for purchases over $20I was absolutely stoked on the way home and nearly lost it in excitement. I got home and hooked it up after I finished in my garage and it works flawlessly and I already have Ballistic so now I have three games for this crazy rare system!!Congrats, man! That's a great find! Freefall 3050 A.D. is a pretty decent game too, once you get into the game mechanic and wrap your head around the controls. You might have a hard time with those Logitech controllers, the analog sticks don't have the same amount of travel the non-Logitech ones did. A lot of people opened their controller cases open and sanded down the plastic edges of the analog stick hub so it can pivot farther.I notice you didn't have a remote control for it. You should check the store for a box full of old remotes like a lot of thrifts have. If I recall, the Toshiba SD-2300's remote has a pop-out keypad kind of thing on it.

$15

This thing right here has been a massive pain in the ASS to find on ebay/available for purchase in the US in any way other than a ridiculously overpriced buy it now for a long time. A complete copy sold for $40-50ish a while back, but on average, one cart sells PER YEAR. After three years of looking, I FINALLY got my hands on a copy of this game, and can now say:

I own every "Sonic" series game on the SEGA game gear.

This is what I originally started collecting on the console to do. In the process, I've stumbled upon a lot of great titles for the system, and grown attached to the portly black battery muncher (which has since been replaced with a shiny blue slightly-less-battery munchy LED modded system.)

Where to go from here? There's still plenty I want to add to my library later on, but for now...time to play the two "SEGA GAME GEAR" branded suitcases of treasure I've accrued.

Listed as a toy, picture of some PS1 harry potter game nobody cares about leading...but what's actually in this lot?

Metal Gear Solid (Black Label)
Q-Bert
Frogger
Rayman Brain Games
Dexter's Lab: Mandark's Lab?
The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home
Bowling
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

All complete, Buy it now for $10. Yeah, the lot's not all stellar, but seeing as MGS is hitting an average of $15 complete on its own, not a bad deal at all.

What I missed:
Message from my friend.

Did you hear about the $500.00 buckets of games this weekend. I never got to even see them, but they were in boxes, complete. I talked to the guy who bought them. he offered to show them to me, but I was getting ready to split..

All the game guys were talking about the games. guys we know passed it up. Others did too so it probably wasn't a super deal.

As matter of fact, I would have a complete Sonic Game Gear collection too, but I'm missing Sonic Blast, Tails' Sky Patrol, and Sonic Drift 1. Thanks for the kind words! It's great to hear from another Game Gear Collector!

on that note, I recently scored a few games I've wanted in my collection for a while, too...

Lot of 4 GG games - $10

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
Lucky Dime Caper Starring Donald Duck
Paperboy
Columns (already have a copy, for resale)

I LOVE SEGA/Disney platformers and found 2 of the titles I wanted most in the same lot. Haggled down from $12 to $10. Paperboy's pretty neat since I've had Paperboy 2 for about a year now, so I've got both there. Already got a columns, this one's for resale.

Lot of 10 GG games - ~$25? I think it was around $24.92 after conversion including 6 pounds/$10 shipping.

This one was interesting because I got it from the UK - it's strange to bid in a different currency than your own, but kinda cool once you've got the conversion rate down.

But oh, were there spoils in this one, WELL worth jumping on.

The haul?

Crystal Warriors
Factory Panic (UK Exclusive!)
Global Gladiators (UK Exclusive!)
Paperboy (UK Version)
The Little Mermaid
Power Rangers (UK Version)
Space Harrier
Columns
Sonic 1
Sonic 2

I've already got Shining Force: Sword of Hajya and I'm loving the heck out of it, but I'll GLADLY add Crystal Warriors to my collection. To my knowledge, Crystal Warriors and Shining Force Sword of Hajya are the only Strat RPGs that were localized on the Game Gear, and are two of a mere three (five if you count Dragon Crystal and Ax Battler) localized RPGs on the system as a whole. Still need Defenders of Oasis at some point, it looks pretty damn good for a turn-based RPG (regardless of it being the only localized one on the console :P)

Factory Panic's kind of interesting. It started out as a game starring Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev called "Ganbare, Gorby!" in Japan where "Gorby" busts into a factory and gives poor people in need vital supplies, like Meat, Medicine and...Game Gears? while defending himself from various guards with a projectile burp attack. It's not the first time SEGA's given a politician his own game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBKDSqp7NMo), but Ganbare Gorby ends up being a very enjoyable action/puzzle game outside of its "license". Factory Panic itself was A UK-exclusive release that reskinned Gorby to resemble a blond-haired kid not entirely unlike porky/pokey from earthbound. A strange title for sure, but one I've wanted in my collection ever since I came across it. Why UK Exclusive? Probably just too weird for the US.

Mick and Mack...hoo boy. I only care about this port for one reason.

http://i.imgur.com/5zWIahO.png

This otherwise innocent port contains quite possibly one of the most terrifying ronald mcdonald sprites ever made. It's so hilariously horrifying that I ended up doing an entire cartoon based on it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQy1tKZYDEI). The actual game within seems...allright? Obviously the Genesis version's better, I suppose it'll do in a pinch, but the real reason I want this guy is because of that damn ronald sprite. It's pretty obvious why this nightmare fuel-injected ecological platformer never came to the states.

(As for actual playability, Ronald in the Magical World is HIGH on my GG want list, especially because it takes a few elements (music, sprite style, etc) from McDonalds Treasure Land Adventure, one of my favorite games on the SEGA Genesis.)

I don't have the little mermaid and I'm not sure whether I want to keep it or not since the port is so horrid. Meh, I guess I'll let it stick around for now.

Everything else in the lot is something I've already got. UK Paperboy, Space Harrier and UK Power Rangers all seem to be slightly higher value titles, Columns and the Sonics are cheap but wanted; I should be able to break even with those.

I had a pretty good GameGear haul at one point. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?169253-September-2013-Finds. It is a fun system to collect for although I don't play many games on the system but rather played the versions on the 3DS virtual console.

I've been thinking of doing an A/V mod on one of my systems. I cant find the link right now but have you guys ever looked into it?

I wouldn't expect a huge flip on that lot, Daryll.
Maybe the Zeldas but the rest of that is typical ebay lot fodder.

I'm surprised at the FF3 DS from Goodwill. Isn't that a Japanese LE console?
