Anybody do the Pokemon X or Y deal that starts this month ?

So, check this out.. I had a 3DS XL, that I had never ever registered, or used the Club Nintendo Pin for. So, when I heard about this offer, I figured, might as well get the Pokémon game for free. So, I tried to register my copy of Super Mario 3D Land, but I had already registered it. I had a copy of Mario Kart 7, but it was just the loose game card. I didn't have the Club Nintendo code. So, I knew, that I had to buy one of these games, or somehow get a code that would work. I went on Ebay, and people were selling codes for about $15.

Then, because I had a loose copy of Mario Kart 7, I decided to look on Ebay for a case / manual combo, that might include the needed code. I got lucky, and found one for about 8 bucks shipped. Snagged it, and had the dude email me the code ahead of time. As I type this, I'm downloading Pokémon y. I'm not really a big Pokémon fan, to be honest, I've never really played a Pokémon game, for more than about 5 minutes. Still, just figured I might as well check it out. I have two young sons that I'm sure will enjoy playing it.

Aw, my 3DS is already registered. I would have bought Yoshi's New Island on release day if I could have gotten Pokemon free.

I got really lucky and never registered anything at all until I heard about this promo. Got me a free Pokemon X.

my brother got it, lucky bastard. I got my Y at launch, and everything I have gets registered the moment I get it.

Yup. Still time to get in on the free Pokemon Bank trial if you download the application today or tomorrow. I used it to restart repeatedly and get the six starter pokemon; then I learned that those are actually fairly common on the trade market and that I had wasted some of my time.

But now is not the time for playing Pokemon Y; with Nintendo WFC going offline at the end of May, now is the time to try to get as far as I can in Platinum/HeartGold/White , which I never really started until now. Unfortunately you can't transfer pokemon from older games into Black/White (and from there onto X/Y) until you finish the main game, so I'm hoping I can do that before my Pokemon Bank trial expires. Metagaming!

I didn't, but actually the GF just did tonight. We both got Pikachu 3DS' when they came out, but for whatever reason she decided she wanted to put the Pikachu away and she got the Yoshi 3DS. That being said, she seems to be enjoying herself.
