Yessir, you can. Only use GB/GBC games though, as idk if it will accept GBA games on it. I highly doubt it but you never know.

Game compatibility differs between versions. I don't know much, except GameShark Pro was buggy enough on Pokemon Crystal they released an uncommon special edition.

Yes and no.
Yes, you can plug a GameBoy/Color game into the GameShark, then plug that GameShark into a GBA and it'll work just fine.
No, a GBA game won't work with a GameShark of that model. You can plug it into the thing, but not much else.

hmm, I wonder what damage I can do if I try to run codes on it with advance games.
i'll have to replace the clicky button on top but after I do I might try it on a game I have floating around

Doubtful that there will be any damage. I've never tired it, but it'll probably do one of two things:
A. Not work.
B. Give you a message that you're using the wrong type of game, like mine does when I plug it into a Super GameBoy.

I'm thinking the "do nothing" option, or just crash.
I'm assuming the GameShark has a BIOS, and thus probably would boot a GBA into GBC mode. So then it would try to boot it as a GBC game, which of course it isn't.

Out of curiosity, I tried plugging a GBA game into mine. Got the message I mentioned, "this isn't software supported by blah, blah, blah".
