This games impossible. Idk how I'm watching videos of people blowing thru this game, I can't even beat the first boss. I make it there, and shoot the shit outta this thing, and it just will not die. Nothing I do. I get all the upgrades I can for my gun and nothing, NOTHING works. F this F-ing game. I even tried using an NES Max controller for turbo, nothing. Ninja Gaiden is easier than this. At least in that game I can beat the first boss no problem.

You can't beat the first boss? I've honestly never had an issue until the third boss which is when the game starts getting really hard. I've never got past the fifth boss. The Japanese version is actually way harder. On stage four I think, you have to make a jump with your small character that will kill you unless you grab onto this small bit of ladder, then let your vehicle through.

First boss is easy, shot it with a grenade and while it's exploding pause the game.

Except for that the gameplay is the same. So that's it? ONE SINGLE JUMP yields the conclusion that the entire game is "way harder" ??

That jump isn't even hard. I've never missed it. It looks difficult but when you actually do it, it's damn near effortless.

This is a game I don't like and don't really understand why it's so appealing to so many other people. I have much better games I'd rather play instead of this.

Maybe something's wrong with the cart? I was recently playing a game where one enemy randomly became completely invincible, though I was able to fix the error ingame by leaving and returning. A single flipped bit could change the boss's starting health massively.

The grenade trick doesn't work on the brain boss,

you have to use grenades on him to damage him ,the regular gun will not work, if you have a turbo controller you should be able to take him out fairly quickly as the grenades have a fast firing rate, just a short range of attack.

I always die on the fourth boss, no matter what. Sucks that the game doesn't have a save function as its challenging and takes a while to get through

I've never had a problem with the first boss, like Blitzwing said use grenades (autofire helps) and stay close to the brain to avoid the satellites

EDIT- Actually I just played Blaster Master and had little problem beating the first boss with just the gun; hold down the A button to fix your direction toward the boss, and slip between the satellites and escape to the other side of the screen when he backs you into a wall. The hardest part seems to be when the orbit of the satellites narrows to catch you if you're close to the brain, at this point you need to get away from him if you haven't done much damage. But as I said above, if you pour grenades on him with autofire he should die before you take much damage from the satellites.

Yea eat a dick. Maybe I should just keep trying, idk. I'm no magician with, but I can normally get a decent way into the super hard ones. I've never ever touched this one tho, and I only put like 20 minutes into it. There's just certain games, for some weird reason, just escape me. I can blow thru Mega Man 2, I've gotten about 50% of the way thru Ninja Gaiden, so I'm not too bad at games.

My issue is I never owned an 8 or 16 bit console back in the early 90s, I played them, but I never had them to play 7 hours a day after school. I didn't own my own console till Playstation. I resent my parents now cuz I love the earlier systems more.

I hope you're not talking about the enemy in front of the door in the first stage when you attack him with your tank (SOFIA). In order to beat him, you have to beat the boss which is in the bottom left corner of the over world stage. Enter that room, kill the boss using grenades, or even a powered up gun, and after a little while he will be defeated.

Yea I was just letting out some game-rage. I'm sure I'll advance more.

I think it's awesome. The back-storys nice and simple, not convoluted, controls are super spot-on, its creative, graphics are great, musics great, the level design is interesting, I love how ur wheels kinda bounce when u jump in the tank. And I love that u can actually jump in a tank. It's just all-around a great platformer that works super well. So long as I can stop sucking ass at it.

Sheesh, you make one little joke and people get upset. The game is far from impossible. Sink more than 20 minutes into it and you will see.
Maybe you SHOULD keep trying, thats the point of playing games.

Haha, yea no worries. I will keep playing it, I forget sometimes that these classic games usually take tonsa tries to finally get it. Unlike games today that u can beat every mission by try #2, and if u can't, they actually allow u to skip it. NES games are actual challenges. Except for Monopoly, that game was pretty easy. And Anticipation.

Even Super Mario Bros took me like 3 days of frustration and blistered thumbs to finally finish.

Maybe I just suck at video games.

The back-storys nice and simple
...Which didn't even exist in the original, so I guess that makes the "backstory" a bunch of nonsense. Especially if you look at the original cart/box's artwork, it makes no sense. lol

controls are super spot-on
Wait until you get the final upgrade. It still controls properly but it's damn awkward to get used to.

First time playing Sunsoft? :)

And I love that you can actually jump in a tank.
Be really careful with when you choose to hop out of your vehicle. It's easy to get separated from it in such a way that there is absolutely no way to get back into it and you will be trapped and forced to reset, provided that where you got stuck has no enemies to kill you and force a respawn. There is one location in the game that is absurdly easy to get instantly trapped in, and it's very late in the game, so it is a real heart-breaker to fall for that trap.

Well, whatever. I think its a good game. It isn't a top 5, but its a good game. And u can look at a lot of NES carts and the artwork doesn't have any corrolation to the game. To me it doesn't matter. Same with the company that made it.

I wish I had the manual for Metafight. I'm curious what the story really is and the manual probably has something. In the game itself you don't ever really see anything that contributes to any kind of story except for the ending.

Music is awesome.

Sunsoft BGM doesn't stop there. Batman, Raf World, Battle Formula - all have amazing songs! I don't own Gimmick yet but if I recall that one also has great BGM.

I can't tell if your remark is about the youtube video or the actual intro in the US version.
