I have been having problems with Gens (The Genesis emulator) for quite some time. What will happen is the video during gameplay would kind of "quirk" every few seconds. Tonight I decided to figure out why. After much testing and uninstalling and reinstalling video drivers, the Nvidia Detonator drivers are the cause. I tried nearly every version of the driver and they all caused the glitch. I then reverted backward through all of the drivers from 2.8.3.2 and up. It didn't happen with any of the drivers prior to v4.x.x.x. I actually found that the fastest driver of the bunch that works perfectly is version 3.0.8.2. Now Gens once again works perfectly, as does everything else in WinXP w/DX9. So, if you have an Nvidia based card and are having the Windows XP glitchy problem, you'll need to uninstall your detonator driver and grab v3.0.8.2. of the Nvidia drivers for XP to make it all good. I just figured I'd share this advice with you guys and gals...who knows...maybe some of you are experiencing the same problems with Gens, or possibly other problems with different emulators due to Nvidia's new driver set. Here's where you can get v3.0.8.2:

Edit: I also noticed the choppiness in other emulators has gone away since reverting back to the 3.0.8.2 driver. Most notably is the second level of Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SMS) when he rides the motorcycle. The side scrolling speed was always choppy for me with any emulator I ran...not so anymore! Perfect :)
