Dreamcast L Trigger on controller port one not working

It seems like my P1 controller port on the console is acting up. L trigger won't register at all. I thought it was just a bad controller, but I've tried multiples and even moved the controllers over to the other ports.

I'm not even sure how to approach this issue cause I'd assume the whole controller port would go down if it were some hardware thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

It is very possible that you have gotten dust in the port that is blocking connection. Try taking some canned air to the port and see what happens.
