Metal Jack: Armored Police (unreleased SNES Game)

Metal Jack came out in Japan, but the game went unreleased in North America. About a year and a half ago, a collector bought a prototype of the unreleased localization from DreamTR and released the ROM image of it. This release kind of few under the radar for me, and it wasn't highly publicized until now. I managed to find quite a bit of magazine coverage of the game. Considering how bad the game is, I am not altogether surprised that it did not come out. I made an article on this game for my website.

Wow that's amazing. I forgot about this one in more than one way. I remember now seeing those ads for US release, but I also forgot it in the fact I used to own the SFC version of the game and it actually is quite fun for the time. I wonder why they'd can it as it's not poor by any means.

I was planning on translating the Japanese version of the game but then I heard about the US prototype, so I stopped all work on that. I was afraid people would take the hack and pass it off as a proto cart (I get enough shit from assholes who sell my translation patches as real carts as it is.)

I'm really happy this surfaced and was released.

Clearly you haven't played it. This game is bottom 20% garbage. Crappy graphics, bad controls, cheap, unavoidable deaths, unbalanced characters. I could go on, but I won't.
