Which is best? A properly working n64 controller or the amazing hori one?

I've always like the original N64 controller. Don't care what anyone says, I found it comfortable as hell.

I always liked the original (Although I've never held it correctly when using the analog stick), but the Hori is definitely superior.
Even the d-pad location, while lousy for the very few games that rely on it as a primary control, is well placed for the typical uses it's utilized for in the average N64 game since it's within easy reach for manipulating something such as your weapon selection or other secondary functions.

For anything that uses the d-pad as the primary control (Mischief Makers, Pokemon Puzzle League, etc), the N64 trident controller is superior.
For anything that uses the analog stick as the primary control (most N64 games) the Hori Minipad 64 is vastly superior.
As such, to get the most out of the N64, you need to have both controllers at the ready.
There is no single answer to this question.

Wow didn't expect so much love for the mini pad, I mean it's really a good stick but the z button, the fulcrum of the original controller, is not as good as the official one and that dissappointed me when I bought the Hori one.
