With the World Cup in full swing, and futbol fever sweeping even the USA.... what is the best 16-bit soccer game ?

I used to kinda like Super Formation Soccer on the Super Famicom, which I believe was ported to the SNES as Super Soccer in the US or something like that. I just liked the mode 7 viewpoint that it used, but don't really remember if the gameplay was all that great.

I know that there were some Fifa's on the Genesis and SNES, but not sure any of them played all that well, it almost seemed like the game played for you, and you really didn't have legitimate control of what was going on.

My first choice is Sega MD (or SNES) International super soccer Deluxe (I believe is the "Winning Eleven" series in Super FC ) .

Then my second choice is EA's Fifa international.

Not the biggest fan of soccer games but they can be more fun than the real thing, I agree with ISSD but I was also quite happy to play those unrealistically fast footy games like Sensible Soccer on the Amiga, great laugh especially with alcohol lol.

Another vote for Konami's International Superstar Soccer Deluxe.

Haven't played it yet but I've heard good things about Capcom's Soccer Shootout

ISS98 on the N64, or Sensible WoS on the Amiga.

Championship (Sensible) Soccer for the Sega (Mega) CD also has some fans.
