Broken Gamecube Lid Sensor Switch Repair/Replacement

So I nabbed a Gamecube on the cheap at Goodwill this evening, but it's looking like the two plastic prongs are broken off on the sensor that detects whether or not the lid is open.

At first glance it seems to be a tremendously simple repair, with the sensor held in place by a single screw and connected by a one wire. Has anybody else done this repair before? Are there any variants between Gamecube models that I have to be on the lookout for?

There also doesn't appear to be any on eBay at the moment, nor are any in stock at the other part suppliers that I frequent. Cheapest one I can find is at NESRepairShop for a tad more than $14 with shipping. Is anybody aware of a more affordable alternative? $14 is nearly three times what I payed for the system itself. :)

Try at one of the modding sites, either Modretro or the Bacman. You could probably find one for just the cost of shipping

I had one that broke once, I put a jumper wire in the end if the connector so it saw the completed circuit and assumed the lid was closed. I think after that I managed to glue something on the nubby that worked and stuck it back in. Or I imagined I did and it still has the jumper wire in it still.

Either way it's working, just can't be dumb and try to remove a disc while it's spinningI if you jump the connector
