In the past I've played emulated versions of Activision's Kaboom on more than a few platforms: Windows 95, PS One, PS2, and Android, but never have I actually played it with an actual Atari paddle controller in my hand as I never had the game as a kid when I had a working pair of paddles. Well, that changed tonight and it was glorious. While the game still free falls from mildly challenging into insanely difficult way too fast, it is still doable with the paddle on the Atari 2600. Very fun and satisfying to play it the way it was intended to be played after all these years.

Oh yeah, absolutely nothing beats playing with the original roller controller. I'm still impressed with the pinpoint precision those paddles provide you. If you get a chance, play Circus Atari next. Easily my favorite paddle game, and one of the most fun games on the system, IMHO.
