I'm wondering if the so-called "orchestra hit" sample Konami used in many of its '90s arcade games and console ports (cf. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Sunset Riders and Lethal Enforcers) was really the sound composer borrowing the (in)famous "ORCH5" sample from the Fairlight CMI IIx?

I think most of the Konami arcade games from that era used Yamaha's YM2151 chip, essentially a scaled down Yamaha DX7. Perhaps the Fairlight CMI IIx is sampling a DX7? They both came out in 1983.

Probably not.
