Is there any such thing in the northeast? I live in Connecticut, and I'm kinda interested in getting into something like this, cuz it's wat im into, and rite now its just me collecting and playing hardcore, and a few friends who like games, and a few other friends who think im crazy, but it'd be nice to really be a part of something cool. Theres comicons and other stuff like that, but I'm pretty much just into retro gaming. I like comics but I'm not "into" comics. Anyone know of anything worth checkin out? Theres enough retro game stores here in CT that u'd think it'd be a thing, but I can't find any sort of info.

MagFest might be what you're looking for. It's not retro-centric, but it has a large retro gaming room and community attending.

The only one I've ever gone to and it's a minor one is the Louisville Arcade Expo. Despite the name it's an even spread of classic pinball too and then they have most of the old home consoles (including some japanese and european) systems and computers out to demo some fun stuff on, competition, and just a couple fairly sorry vendors of which one is the biggest fraud in the state of Kentucky (Game King) who is rude, nasty, smells bad (seriously), and charges around 30-40% over retail hoping to dupe a sucker on a cart.

Where in CT are you located? I can only think of 3 stores that aren't chains, and game exchange (I'm on the east side of the state near the casinos, and aside from game exchange and gamestop, there's not much in this area without driving 45 mins across state, or jumping into Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Past that, there's no cons in this state that are anything but comicons (like the annual one in Hartford)

I'm about 30 minutes west of Hartford. There actually is a new game store that opened in Newington, on the Berlin Turnpike, called Retro Games Plus, which has a few other locations so I guess it's a chain, but they have lotsa tough to find stuff.

Oh nice! I don't get up to the Berlin pike often, but maybe I'll have to venture out that way this weekend or next. I'm about 20 mins south of Hartford, near backus (if you're familiar with the area).

Do you ever hit up Mansfield drivein? I also recently found out there's "the grid gaming" (not goodwill associated) in Manchester, which is another spot to check out as well.

Haha no worries :p I think Mansfield is open for a few more weeks, so I'm gonna try to get up there in the next couple of weeks.
