I know there are Handheld NES, SNES, and Genesis clones to varying quality but what about the 2600? Is there any handheld clones of that?

There was a great deal of fuss over Ben Heckendorn's VCSp way back in the day, but of course that's a custom job, just like everything else he does, and I don't think he's making them anymore.
There were plans for an Atari Flashback Portable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Flashback_Portable), apparently, but is seems they never got off the ground.

Nvidia Shield can emulate all of that with ease and style.

Oh, a lot of things can emulate it. I don't know why you'd pick out the Shield in particular.

There was a commercially made one from the UK several years back.

Granted it didn't have its own display, but it was still a handheld system per se.
