My first game

So Ive been going through the difficult task of learning C# programming, which can be frustrating at times. Anyway, I'm almost finished and I was curious as to what you guys thought based off of a trailer I've made. (I know, watching and playing are different) but please let me know what you guys think.

This looks cool. Are the overlay effects in the game itself, or just the video? I like the effect the color shifts have on some of the backgrounds, particularly the mountains.

As a huge shmup fan I have to say that looks pretty fun. Some interesting boss ideas too. What I would like to know is who did the music? The game looks like it could be very cool! What platform are you building it for?

The effect is just on the video wanted to give it an old style vhs look, although ive toyed with making the game look like that as well.
Musics all done by me using Sega Genesis soundchip emulation. as of right now PC. although open to other pplatforms, i just want to make sure it plays well enough for my standards, having a small problem with the powerup system.

So ultimately, I wasnt very pleased with the look overall. so I am in the process of revamping the assets and some of the levels. I will be putting a download link when done, and hopefully I can figure out how to implement web framework and have it playable in browser

Very old school looking, the background almost has a Hanna Barbera look to it. I was half expecting to see some Wacky Racers fly by... You got a like from me just because of that :)
