The game is being shrunk down to the series' classic top-down view, similar to the one used in Zelda games for the NES, SNES and on handhelds.
Cut-scenes are being drawn, enemy AI is being programmed, and Ocarina's main themes are being re-recorded in fittingly 16-bit versions.

Bah, lost me at PC. Make it run on a SNES or N64.

I remember someone else trying to remake the game in this way several years ago, the project was abandoned. The creator of that version actually tried to fake his death to get out of making the game.
