I was at Toys-r-us this morning and I was able to get all of them except for the Modern 8-bit mario, which is a Wii system bundle exclusive...
Also picked up a Splatoon 3-pack yesterday which was awesome. For awhile I thought they were discontinued.

I thought Olimar would be more popular but it seems like he is the least popular one in the bunch. Olimar seems to be the only one that still for sale online.

There are 2 different ones. The modern colored one is bundled in a wii-u package, the classic color version is sold on its own.

Managed to grab Olimar yesterday with my Super Mario Maker. FLGS (Friendly Local GameStop) manager stated poor Olimar got "no love", but the other wave 5b amiibo were gone long before I got off work (with 8-bit Mario gone about an hour after the FLGS opened).

Yeah I find that puzzling, I think Olimar is one of the coolest amiibos. He is the only one not sold out and he is still available on Amazon and Gamestop.com.

Toys R US had a bunch of Bowser Jrs. they also had a Lucario which I took, 2 Villagers and one falcon. That was the first time I've ever seen a Falcon in the wild. I'm glad Nintendo is finally sending more stock of these.

Well something I read said look in stores tomorrow at Target for some restocks of certain ones from this most recent wave. I have to pick the kid up tomorrow from school and if she was good get lunch out, but on the way back there's a Target so I may just roll in and see if I can get a classic Mario.

I have no hope personally of ever seeing Lil Mac, Pit or Captain Falcon anymore even if I do bring them up. I am not in a position where I can drop what i'm doing and go to various stores as the doors open or shortly after around 9-10am during the week or I'll end up canned and some little bits of plastic aren't worth a job. It infuriates me I can't just find them at stores while others can, and usually when they do, they're up on ebay, amazon, craigslist or elsewhere for some shitty scummy sum that isn't retail or even near it. If it wasn't for the principle of the matter I'd just import the fuckers from Japan or Europe, but even loose they're still up there enough it's like paying one of these local pricks so I feel trapped and I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.

It's a shame Gamestop won't take a pre-payment in the system or any store that carries them for that matter so when one arrives, its held. I loathe preorder but to put this crap to bed I'd do it.

I found a Splatoon 3-Pack at Toys R Us today. They had three of them and my roommates who were there earlier in the day picked one up for me. I went later in the evening and met up with my cousin who was looking for his cousin on his mom's side (no relation to me :p). The last one was snagged up by a woman who was there when I came in. She asked if it was a TRU exclusive and I said no but she noticed how quick I picked it up so she snagged the last one for herself or whomever. :p

No Villagers to be had that I could see. I figure they'll get a bunch of those when it gets closer to the Animal Crossing release.

I got my retro 3 pack the other day, and its really awesome. The package is larger than the splatoon 3 pack. Wicked badass!

I was at toys-r-us today to sell something to a craigslist buyer, and I checked out the amiibos to see if they have been restocked yet. Nothing yet, although the space they had allocated for amiibos was cut in half and is now being taken over by a bunch of those coleco/intellivision/sega genesis plug-and-play systems.
I was like 'what is this crap, where is little mac and captain falcon??'.

Picked up my Retro 3-pack and NFC reader yesterday. Planning to test the NFC reader by making a Meta Knight Figure Player.

I wish there was a good place to put the unused Game & Watch standee parts... they're now in a Ziploc bag by the other amiibo. ROB looks pretty cool, though. :)

I got mine too the day they hit and I love the detailing, especially on the ROB as it's so teeny but you can actually read the whole ROB - Robotic Operating Buddy on there which was smile worthy. My solution for the G&W guy was easy, I kept the plastic tray the other pieces were in and threw it in my top desk drawer along the side of it so it's out of the way. That box was pretty big, satisfying finally having it to tear open and put those 3 on my desk finally. I think other than Chibi Robo if I bother and not just get the game alone (if that, want to see reviews from owners first) I'm caught up other than the wave 1 disappointments.

And on that I hadn't seen any of them in my TRU either, and my area too has those AT Games systems to the left, but that 20% of the full length of the shelf space already wasn't amiibo so there were no cuts. The spill over was on the wall opposite stacked up like 4 high vs the 1/2 height stuff they use not along the walls.

One day is all I can say. One day we who refuse to buckle to scalpers will get those hard to find original amiibo one way or the other. It may take a week, a month, even a year if the fury dies down eventually but they'll be had and at retail or less.

The exception is if someone finds Falcon, Pit or Lil Mac before me and can grab one I'll pay $20 for your cost, tax, gas, time and you can pitch the box and shove it in a bubble bag to keep it within first class mail standards.

Looks like Nintendo stocked the 3 pack. Saw 4 when I picked mine up. A friend of mine said there at least 10 on the shelf. I remember seeing people putting on kijiji these for prices ranging from 70-120 on the first day....yeah okay.:rolleyes:

The only ones who will have any luck at this rate will be for suckers who think you can't get one because of past history, or those who are so adamantly hating Gamestop they'd rather pay someone else. It seems to me the other stuff from that last wave was fairly well stocked if not overkill with the likes of Dr Mario. Hopefully once they get the earlier wave re-issues going and so on that'll finally put the abuses to bed and people can get what they want and need at RETAIL prices and at retail (or cheaper 2nd hand.)

Everything from the last wave (except for the modern color mario) has been and is still readily available; online and in stores.
People who bought any of the recent amiibos with hope of selling them for more will find that they wasted their time and money trying to do so.

Also might want to check or call Toys-r-us if you are looking for Little Mac and Captain Falcon. I picked up one of each today, the toys-r-us in my area got in 2 Captains and 16 Little Macs. If you go looking for these make sure and ask if you cant find them, my TRU store had them behind the counter and I had to ask for them. This is pretty nice since 1 guy cant buy all of them. TRU limits one character per person, but you can just keep walking in and out to buy multiples.

I wish there's one locally too. I have a TRU about 3mi from here, and I know of another 20min away across town. When I'm off I have to go there anyway because I need to find an R2D2 Pez package my kid decided to tear open this morning which was meant as a gift and it came from there. So when I go in I'll look for Falcon and Mac, but I have no hopes because if they got there yesterday I'm sure the flipper trash already got them if they weren't in large supply. People around here mostly have enough common sense not to buy, snap a pic, and throw it on craigslist so it heads to ebay. Though on occasion you do find a loser, as there's one up there now with ZS Samus, Ganon and Olimar for $50.

Say hello to Captain Falcon and Little Mac. Now I just need to track down Pit, but first to get them out of these plastic coffins.

Toys R Us are being restocked. I was coming home from my once a month wednesday meeting and called, they were unboxing so I turned a bit around and went there. They had on the floor basically 8 of everything and many more in non-descript cardboard boxes without names on them and the classic Nintendo box font for part numbers without their name on it stacked up behind their and on top of their counter with the registers.

Fox, Little Mac, Captain Falcon, the rare Pokemons, Villager due later this week and I think he said the trainer too, Pit is not known when/if it will. The other recent stuff from the newest wave including 8bit Mario were well restocked too. I've never seen the shelf that full of variety+quantity.

The "Destination Wheel" chooses what level you go to next after completing a level, depending on your spin. This can be annoying when you just want to go to the next stage, but keep landing on "2" or "3". However, if you missed stuff, going back to a level you've completed isn't so bad.

When you beat an area boss, you can replay levels at your own discretion. This was a major gripe among reviewers, and the main reason why Chibi-Robo got the average-to-slightly-above-average reviews it did.

Went into a Best Buy yesterday to get Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash. They had a ton of Amiibo. Lots of Greninjas, Captain Falcons, Marths, and Little Macs. I remembered those because I remember how hard to find that they were. On another note, Zip Lash isn't sold with the regular games, it's sold by the amiibo. So maybe it means better sales? IMO, it's the best Chibi Robo game even if the Amiibo adds basically nothing to it.

I have noticed on some of the recent repritned amiibos, the paint jobs are kinda sloppy on certain figures. I bought a greninja that Im going to return or exchange because I diddnt notice how messy it looked when I bought it. Also the last time I was at best buy they had like 4 or 5 Captain Falcons left and all of them were really messy. I would have bought one if they had been nicer. I also picked up another charizard and the paint on his belly is not perfect.

Just a random thought here, but how are all of you storing your amiibo figures when you're not using them? Do you keep them on a shelf, in a container, or...?

My husband is big into card and board games as well, and I found by accident that large trading card boxes are great for amiibo storage.

One of these boxes (link: http://www.trollandtoad.com/p108698.html) can hold 24-30 amiibo. Large trading card boxes are about $4-5. Not a bad investment considering specialized "amiiboxes" are a good bit more than that. You can even draw on the lid, or have an artistically inclined friend or family member do it.

Speaking of trading cards, the binders and pocketed pages are great for storing the Amiibo cards. I've got my cards in the same binder as my e-Reader cards (yes I collect those too). I hope the official Animal Crossing portfolio comes out in North America though.

I think it was mainly the first print of Marth that had the goofy face. They seemed to have improved that in the recent restocks. I have the other fire emblem characters and they are all nice.

I'm not sure it would work for all of them, but baseball/trading card plastic cases with a door hinge on top that hold like 200 cards or so (they're kind of square around the girth but length/width is a rectangle they might work standing on their side. I just have them open on the desk here to the right of my laptop and left of my 2 work screens. I have like 14 of them I think and I spread them tightly in three rows deep. Once I can find a Donkey Kong and Pit, not sure what I'd add. Perhaps I'll eventually get Kirby and Pikachu since they are mascots too of the 8bit era...not planning to get the Mario crew though Dr Mario is tempting but so overly run it's a snap to find them at any target.

Now that you mention it, yes, though I was already thinking those hobby clear plastic boxes that hold action figures, models or baseballs in them but they're not sealed. I've got one with a prototype 1950s baseball travel game that's family made (full version sold), a schuco ferari wind up car in another, and a third larger of glass/wood, has a Japanese mechanical light up driving car that's spotless painted like Herbie (box in closet.) I don't bother much but I have a few lying around I've picked up here or there.

The wolf Link amiibo is the best looking one to date. I'd like to get it but I think its only in a bundle with Twilight Princess and I already have the Gamecube and Wii versions. Did anyone pick up Mewtwo today? I did, and thought it was a bit weird to just be able to get one. No hassle, just asked for one from the amiibo stack behind the counter at the FLGS.

Maybe non-Fire Emblem, non-exclusive amiibo (and Greninja) are becoming non-a pain in the butt to get now.

I saw a few of them when I was out along with the other Animal Crossing singles and package deals. I didn't even realize it was a new amiibo day as they're not for me but it was nice to see plenty of supply not scalped up.

Anybody get Falco today? I went to best buy and they had them all dumped in a huge pile on the floor. They had the marths in the same way, they just dont care.
Also, Im really surprised at how popular the mega yarn yoshi is. It seems to be selling for 70-80 on ebay already.

I think the popularity has zero to do with it being an amiibo.

Think about it. You often have you ever seen Nintendo sell a knit yarn plush toy instead of the usual cheap felt and stitching beanies and the type in usual mass market cardboard bins? You don't. TO get a yarn yoshi up until now you had to make one, get someone to make it, or find one someone did up on ebay or etsy.

Here you get this large tall classic green yoshi. Hell I want it, just because it is that, but I won't pay that much for one. I have a mass market pink plush one I got as a carnival game win a little over a year ago on my shelf that's like 8" tall which is the same size as the mega yarn yoshi.

With all the Animal Crossing amiibos being made, I'm hoping they'll make one of Tom Nook in his Nook's Cranny apron. That would bring my wanted amiibos up to two.

...They're not tailors. They run a second-hand shop called Re-Tail. They are a couple of dating alpacas named Reese and Cyrus. She sells the used goods and he is a handyman/carpenter type that can customize your furniture.

I generally find Best Buys to be unsavory. Perhaps it is just the ones I've been to, but they seem unkempt and dirty with lots of marks on the floors and dirt smears on the walls. Not horrible, mind you, but noticeable if you look. And the demo units they have tend to be... icky to the touch. I'm not saying it is a dump, but you'd think they'd have more pride in their stores' look and feel. Plus the employees seem to know nothing about the sections in which they don't normally work. They don't have to be experts, but if I asked, let's say, where the 3DS games are in the video game section, or even where the video game section is, someone working in DVD's usually wouldn't be able to tell me. And nobody seems willing to stray from their section for long to help you find something in another. And, uh, even employees in their own section often don't know if they have something there or not.

By the way, which Best Buy was this where the Amiibo were dumped on the floor in piles?
