Gang:

Today, I bought a Famicom on ebay for $25. Felt like it was a pretty good deal. However, it does not come with any sort of hookup for the TV. My question then is: what sort of cables should I get to hook my Famicom up? Can I get an R/F cable like an NES? Or is the connection a different beast altogether? Thanks!

if it helps, I have determined that this famicom is an original model.

If I recall the answer to your question is a Sega Genesis power plug and a normal RF connector if you don't have a way to convert that to RCA. If you run through RF your TV needs to do like channel 95 or something around there to be picked up.

So I could use my NES R/F? I just upgraded my NES to av so I have an extra R/F laying around anyway.

If my memory serves right yes the NES RF adapter will work fine, but since the Japanese system broadcasts at a different frequency than the NES does you need to like set it on channel 1 or 2(?) and then set the channel on the TV to 95/96 somewhere around that number. Since you already have one, you might as well give it a shot as it's not like it can break anything being attached.

Yup, this is what I remember as well.
