Borderlands Question

I have just started the series and am in the middle of the first game. I am really enjoying the storyline. I was wondering. Do I play part 2 next or the pre-sequel? I am asking because I want to be able to follow the storyline. I don't want to skip a part or not understand something.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx dlc next, then Borderlands 2. Continuity-wise the Pre-Sequel goes between 1 & 2 but it has major spoilers in the intro video as to what happened in Borderlands 2. Basically consider the Pre-Sequel a side-story that fleshes out the backgrounds of some of the characters you face in Borderlands 2 and clue us in on what Borderlands 3 will be about.

Yeah, there are some spoilers to BL2 in TPS, so I'd recommend playing them in the order they were released.

after the pre-sequel then you'll want to play tales from the borderlands aswell
