I visited an EBGAMES in Ocean NJ today, actually in search of DOOM 2 for the GBA. Which they had WOOHOO. and I picked up the 4 pak of NEO GEO Carts. Anyway as I was paying I noticed this box at the register that had FREE STUFF. In it was a Playstation Unit and SVideo Cables. I asked the clerk and he said take it. Brought it home and it works perfectly.
What the chances of that? A FREE PSX System.

Good deal, although it was probably that clerk's first day...
I used a coupon along with the 30% off after buying 3 or more pre-owned earlier this month because the clerk was new. I got Street Fighter Alpha 3 for GBA for $8.
Gotta love EB Games!

I feel a little bad for the clerk if that was the case, since those sort of things usually come out of their pay check. A lesson learned though..

Last I checked in the US, an employee cannot get docked pay. They can only get written up. My register came up like $6 short one time when I was working in a music store. Even if I wanted to, I could put the money in there. I quit that shit job a month or so later anyway. My boss was a psycho. He totally forgot things he promised me, like days off and whatnot.

The box was marked clearly free stuff for a good home (or something like that). Maybe they thought it was not functioning. I doubt the clerk would get in any trouble.
The NEO GEO Carts are in a 4 pak for 39.99 , carts only . I read there was an abundance of them in a warehouse and they repackaged them for sale. The titles are
Match of the Millennium
Last Blade
Sonic Pocket Adventure
Mini Puzzle Bobble

It can still happen if the employer is replacing an exact ammount missing from the register or to replace certain equipment. Here's a detailed ruling that went on in Louisiana but the guys I talk to who work the registers at the Post Office in North Carolina say the same thing happens to them if they come up short.

You're right, they can not dock pay for any monetary loss on the job.

Nice find. Free = teh good.
I like Doom (GBA) better than Doom II (GBA), though. Doom runs fast and fluidly, while Doom II chugs a bit.

What's the 4 pack of Neo Geo carts?
EBgames is currently selling a 4-pack of Neo Geo pocket carts for $39.99 The games are new and come in a blister pack without boxes or manuals, but it's still a great deal at that price. The games included are:
Puzzle Bobble Mini
SNK vs. Capcom Match Millennium Version
Sonic the Hedgehog
Last Blade
They also sell a similar package that includes SIX games AND the Neo Geo Pocket for $79.99. Games included are:
Metal Slug First Mission
Fatal Fury F-Contact
Pac Man
Turf Masters
King of Fighters R2
Samurai Showdown 2
So in short, you can get a new Neo Geo Pocket and ten great games for $120. Sounds like a no brainer to me. :)

Hey, that's an awesome find, anything free is cool in my book.
That reminds me of the time my brother found a PSX in the trash, working as a trashman for the summer, it worked perfect, and I bought it for 6$ off of him! :)

This is correct in terms of an actual paycheck but it does not apply to anyone who has "at will" employment and earns tips (e.g. the serving industry). It is perfectly legal for an employer to dock money from an employee's tips, although I realize that this wouldn't apply to someone working in EB Games!
By the way, since we're on the subject of nice deals at EB, I got a pre-owned Xbox the other day and, when I got it home, someone had left Wakeboarding in the disc drive! Since it's not really my kind of game, I traded it in for $20 and picked up Time Splitters 2 instead. It would have been even better if someone had left Halo or Return to Castle Wolfenstein in the drive, but that may have been pushing my luck. :)
