Played SvC Today

For the 3 or 4 people here who care, finally got a chance to play SvC today.

At first I thought the gameplay was a tad slow, but I got used to it, and I have to say I like the speed of the game.

Everything is well animated, backgrounds are great, in short, the game is beautiful. Didn't hear the music too well, but from what I noticed, it fit in well.

I was getting my ass kicked the whole time by another member of ng.com. I'm more of a Capcom player, I have to get used to the whole KoF feel. Even though I lost, it was still great fun. I had trouble pulling off Guile's supers, that may be due to the fact that I haven't played at an arcade in a long time.

Some of the pre fight quotes are funny. Iori was calling Akuma a freak. LOL

If you have an arcade with this game in your area, go play it now.

Eh, Guile's supers are a pain to pull off anyhow. There's a defensive charge glitch in the game, in that if you charge down/back, it won't always register, but it really only affects a down/up charge move like flash kick.

The game does feel a bit like a KOF...if you ask me though, the lack of a team system, rolls, CD attacks, or short jumps changed how this game works from a KOF. Glad to hear you liked it though.

Yea there is nothing really to compare it to, KoF is the closest.

Didn't know about that glitch, I suppose that's why I was having trouble pulling off the Flash Kick as a counter.

Iori is a beast in this game. Didn't get to play as or against Mr. Karate. Didn't get to see Dimitri either.

Maybe back to the arcade tomorrow. :)

I played SvC for the first time at the Chinatown Fair 2 weeks ago and I got my ass served by some dude who won like 25+ in a row w/ Iori. It didnt help that the control scheme was backwards with all the kicks on the top buttons and all the punches on the bottom. My only gripe with the game was that Ken/Ryu's fireball looked like bad CGI.
