Super Mario Sunshine ( about halfway finished ) - decent game, I don't think I ever finished it when I originally bought it. Kinda wish the environments had more variety and that the Fludd aspect of the game had been incorporated better. Mario's just one of those games where the basic controls are so good that it's fun to just mess around and run/jump between buildings, etc.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - completed about 25% and got sidetracked.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - completed 80%, really, really like this game and the direction they went with everything, wish the story was a little more involved but otherwise great. Graphics are nice and a decent variety of weapons. I have a few complaints ( perhaps a bit too linear, would've been interesting as a full open-world like Simon's Quest ). It's too bad Iga is done with the series ( I think? ), because after years of Metroidvanias he finally started to push things towards the next evolution of the series.
Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Haven't played this one enough to give any real impression.
StarFox 64 3DS - don't like the altered version of the controls (although they are optional ) but it's cool to have this in handheld form nonetheless.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 - Pretty fun, hopefully it gets more challenging though, I am just on the first world still.
Mega Man Anniversary Collection ( GC ) - Going to run through all of these when I get the chance, beat the first game already tho. Has been a while since I tackled the series, always fun to go through a classic series like this.
Resident Evil ( Gamecube ) - going to start on these soon, never got to play them the first time around.

Ahhh..Jurassic Park Operation Genesis for Xbox.
a friend of mine who is in Florida contacted me about this game yesterday..he's to pick up a lot of games but the seller is stuck on a $150.00 price for that particular game ..basically they agreed on a lesser price..
What I don't know is:
what's with this game, why so expensive?..late/limited/exclusive release?..or just a hard to get Great Game..

Someone listed it buy it now for 60 bucks complete. I jumped on it. I had a cracked copy and have been dying to play it.
Its like rollercoaster tycoon but way way better. Obviously instead of rides it's all dinosaurs and kiosks. Plus it's all movie music and sounds.

Its actually a very early release that is considered rare. Its a park creator/simulation type game. The game is alright, I personally wouldnt consider it a fantastic game but its good. I think the value stems from the rarity mostly.

Mass Effect. I was completely prepared to shelf this game the first time I tried it a month or so ago. I thought that it was borderline unplayable, but I'm really gad that I stuck it out long enough to level up.
Anyway, that's all I'm playing at the moment. I'm probably going to revisit either Bioshock, and/or Silent Hill: Homecoming next, but it seems like it might be a while. I try to only focus on one (demanding) game at a time.

Currently I've just totally lost interest in console gaming though I do have the Last of Us on PS4 to do. I got this new laptop so I've been swinging mainly between Gauntlet and FF13 on Steam but there are others I pick at far less as I'm trying to be kind of focused on that. Gauntlet I didn't care for much up front but once I went into random quick play with others the fun opened up being like a legit arcade game. FF13 is just a for fun thing and with the maxed out display choices it's nuts.

It doesn't and it's the version more likely to hold up since the DC game was loved yet panned for its very aggressive random battle counter rate and also the drawn out 'arts' sequences when doing spells and junk which the GC version tweaked. I have it too but I hold onto it mostly due to the past, not because I think I could tolerate sitting through it again as I know I couldn't. I even this time around have the official guide and I know it wouldn't add many hours to my tolerance of it. Had it aged well I think Sega would have milked it again much like Namco with Tales of Symphonia redone from GC into HD.

It's definitely the random battles that are draining the fun. Thankfully you can skip the battle animations for the abilities. Wish you could for using items. I'm still gonna stick with it and finish it since I never had a DC when it was out. Feel like I need to at least play through it once.

I can't say that it will get any better to be fair. The game is really a good experience but a flat one that doesn't get better with progress. If you find the GC battle frequency draining the DC game would have been sold or used as a drink coaster or frisbee already a sit was annoying. I never thought super highly of the game though other than the badass airship battles as I always wondered why those loafs at Square never did them in the FF games since airships have been a staple of the cart based stuff and then some.

Currently working on Super Mario World and Pokemon Omega Ruby by myself, and I have been playing a lot of Madden 15, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart 8, and Smash Brothers Wii U with my buddies at college. Its been kind of neat because as I have four systems in my dorm room (Snes, 64, Wii U, PS4), about 4 of us all get together around 11 PM every week night and play video games. It is a good time!

I've been playing Morrowind on and off for a few months and, having not played any other Elder Scrolls game, I really like the gameplay, quests, environment, ambiance, etc. but I'm finding it a tough nut to crack because it takes sooooo long to go up a level and the combat is ridiculous.
So yesterday, I installed a few mods to make things a bit more balanced and reduce the tedium while leaving the challenge intact (for example, clearing out bandit caves is just as challenging as before and I still die a lot, but with the Always Accurate Attack mod I put myself on a level playing field with the enemies so it's far less frustrating). I also installed the Children Of Morrowind and Playable Children mods just for fun.
I have to say, playing it that way does improve the game enormously and now I feel like a dummy for not doing this sooner. I don't think I'll ever play plain vanilla Morrowind again.

That's awesome! Can't wait until my son is old enough (he's only 10 weeks right now). My niece played through the original Metal Slug on my MVS cabinet with her dad, and he was so proud (even with her 43 continues). I currently playing Super Smash Bros. Wii U and expect to be doing so for a long time. That's really about it for modern games thought I do have a few Wii U games I do want to get to eventually (Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 1&2, Wonderful 101, Wind Waker).
As for classic games... having just gone on several purchasing binges, I have a ton to play through now. There's no game I'm specifically focused on completing at this moment thought considering that I am almost finished with F-zero X's Grand Prix's mode, I'm probably going to finish that one up within a day or two.
Playing Mario Kart 8 almost exclusively right now, but as I am soon going on a 12 hour road trip, I assume I will be working on completing the Omega Ruby Pokedex or picking up Majoras Mask 3DS.

Finally beat F-zero awhile back. I am currently working through Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, thought I did play a lot of N64 last week with people at college (OMG it was so amazing! So many people got hyped that they got to see a N64 again). Mario Party 1-3, Diddy Kong Racing Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, but the favorite was Conker's Bad Fur Day, which many were surprised by. I look forward to bringing that one back again.
I will probably replay Donkey Kong Country next. Loved that game as a child, glad that it's back on the Wii U VC.

I'm enjoying a rom hack of Pokémon SoulSilver called Silver Blue that essentially takes the second half of the game in Kanto and reworks it into a kind-of-sort-of-remake of Pokémon Red (although you have to use the included save file for it to work and start you in Pallet Town). I like it because there's no major plot, no evil team to worry about, no broken bridges preventing you from going certain places ahead of time, just training. Lots and lots of training. You could say it simulates the experience of being an ordinary, average pokemon trainer who isn't involved in any earth shaking events and whose only concern is traveling around to the gyms. Ya know, like every trainer who isn't a main series protagonist. It's a nice change of pace.

Startropics. I've heard mixed opinions about this game but I think it's fantastic. What's slowing me up with this game is it's pretty difficult. The puzzles can be tricky, like Zelda, and there's some confusing, annoying temples, but what I also find frustrating is the enemies can come at u in very inconvenient ways. It's very similar to Zelda in that it's a top-down adventure game, and u move basically on a grid, but there's enemies that only attack from a diagonal. I remember this making Legend of Zelda hard in some rooms but I don't remember it being this difficult. Great game tho with good graphi

Nothing retro lately, though I do have a new replacement Retron 5 console that I need to make use of. The first one I got which was a gift from Think Geek was DOA out of the box. The new works, but I've only tested it with an SNES game.
I've started playing Genji: Days of the Blade this morning. I've owned a PS3 for several years but I've only played 2 PS3 titles which were Resistance: Fall of Man which was mediocre, and recently The Last of Us, which was amazing. I know Genji is not too great (the first one was a bore), but I figure I can blow through it quickly since I'm trying to chip away at my PS3 library a bit.
I also play Mario Kart 8 almost daily online, and I might start Castlevania: Lord's of Darkness 2. I really enjoyed the first one which I ended recently.

I just finished playing Earthbound (the translated NES game) on a repro cart for the first time after only having played it in Japanese before on my actual cartridge. It was fun, and neat to play in English finally. Other than that, I've been playing the famicom carts of Wai Wai World and Wai Wai World 2, as well as Hashire Hebereke.
I'm also playing around with my Super NES/Barcode Battler Interface and some of the games that use it, like Conveni Wars and Excite Stage '94 and '95. I have some Doraemon games en route and Dragon Slayer II, so I'll be interested to see what the Barcode Battler does there. Have some Excite Stage '94 cards coming, too, so that'll be neat.

I've been playing a lot of Wrecking Crew for the NES. I've also been playing Soldiers of Fortune and Tyrants on the Genesis. I can't seem to get my Genny mouse to work with Tyrants. Does anyone know if Tyrants is compatible with the Genny mouse? Tyrants on the Genesis could be better than the PC version AKA Mega Lo Mania IMO if it was Genny mouse compatible. The game just plays better with a mouse. Why couldn't Sega make their ports of popular PC games compatible with their freaking mouse??? :frustrated:
