It's kinda sad, that ther's hardly ANY information about this video game competition that took place in the 90's. I haven't been on this forum in a few years and was reminded of DigitPress when I was digging out some old 16-bit relics - plaques, games, etc.

Here's a picture of the plaque I received - year one of a two-year tour. I also have one for Super Star Fox Weekend - and I was wondering; did anyone else compete in this competition and was this exclusive to Canada or did the Power Play Tour take place in the USA, as well?

Not sure about the name here, but we had Blockbuster championships as well as the Nintendo sponsored competitions. Star Fox and DK Country carts are floating around from them.

I have not heard of a 1992 SNES competition in the US (apparently there was the Campus Challenge). I know of the StarFox competition and the 1994 PowerFest.
Though I thought the StarFox competition was a relatively smaller event (competitions at game stores across the US and then the finals), held within a couple months of the game's release.

I believe the Blockbuster competition ran for two seasons (1994 and 1995).

That's all true. SEGA had far more of a presence with the traveling road show/competitions at that time than Nintendo.

I wish they'd do more
