When you play a game that has music playing, the music can set the mood and tone of that particular part of the game. (I.e. Most of the tunes in SMB are upbeat little dittys, but when you are in a castle, the music changes to something more creepy.)

Some games, however, have music that just makes no sense playing where it does. (Could you imagine walking into a battle with a huge dragon in an RPG, and some fruity faerie music is playing?)

So, what games have you played that have ineffective music?

Marvel vs Capcom 2. The J-pop jazz is one of the main reasons I got rid of it, and I never usually get rid of fighting games.

The only example I can think of right now would be Burnout. The music was just useless so I turned it off, just to have the engine noises instead.

I'm gonna move this over to the Gaming forum.. I think it's a little more "on-topic" :)

This was one of the main reasons that I got it. You have to love Japanese music, especially in many of the Capcom fighting games. Maybe I just have an affinity for cheese...

I also hated the MvC2 music, and the announcer even moreso. It's almost as if Capcom hired the most obnoxious musicians/announcer on purpose :D.
