View Full Version : Is there a complete list of horror-themed PS2 games anywhere?

Been having a horror craving lately and its hard to discover ones that you've never heard of. Same problem of people only ever talking about the same ones over and over.

So I'd just like to see a list and then research any title I don't recognize.

Would also like similar for PS1, Saturn, Gamecube and Dreamcast.

Please?

Check out Chris's Survival Horror Quest.

The construction of any such list would undoubtedly be fraught with debate over what constitutes "horror".

Indeed. I remember when I saw a game called Decap Attack listed as horror on Hardcore Gaming 101.... and then its a cutesy platformer that happens to use mummies and stuff.

On the other hand if you get too strict you might leave out something interesting.

At the moment I mostly want something that's... well, I want something J-horror-ey. I'm thinking of getting the Fatal Frame games since I never played them before, or else Kuon if I can find it for not-ridiculous prices. I already know about Siren and Silent Hill, and I've already played all the PS2-era Resident Evil games.

check out games like Saw, Manhunt, Friday 13th etc. Think of horror flicks, there are many games based on flicks.

Just in case you didn't see this. I can't attest to its level of coverage, but it's certainly relevant to the discussion at hand.

there are many games based on flicks. And the overwhelmingly vast majority of them are absolutely appalling..?

Not to mention, movies like Saw and Friday the 13th barely scratch my horror itch (unless I'm specifically in the mood for an eighties slasher flick or--in the case of Saw--utter garbage). So I can't imagine a game based on them would, either.

Lately I picked up Fatal Frame. Now THAT is what I'm after!

ahh my bad I thought horror movies for some reason.

I been playing a lot of Castlevania: Dracula X Rondo of Blood lately. Is this the style of horror you meant?
