There is a question I hope to get answered to regarding Super Mario Bros. for the NES? Why is there no time bonus for each last level of each world - you know, the castle levels (the x-4 worlds)?

I'd like to be able to know what to do to change this so I do get a time remaining award to my score in these levels. Thank you! Which code in the game's ROM instructs to leave out the time remaining bonus in the x-4 levels?

Wouldn't the obvious answer be because Miyamoto didn't design it that way? You're not being rewarded for a waypoint at the end of a substage, you're clearing a castle and getting the old fake out up until world 8. The reward is to win the princess, or what should have been her at least.

However, such a bonus is given to you in these levels in Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) as well as in Vs. Super Mario Bros. and All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. That is why I brought it up.

And however to that, they also came out later. It's just how the game was done. It makes me wonder why some people just can't leave well enough alone.
